So happy to find an inline mic for Audio Technica m40x
Looked everywhere for an inline mic to use with my ATH m40x headphones. I had been planning to use a standard inline cable until I realized the Audio Technica headphones use a non-standard connector between the cable and headphone. I was almost going to bust out the soldering iron to make a cable like this and then I found this one. The listening sound quality is indistinguishable from the normal cable. The mic quality could be better (it is quiet, distant and thin), but it should be fine for gaming on PC and calls on android. The mic is comparable to other inline microphones--I wasn't expecting better. The pause and volume buttons work fine on android. My cable was marked android, so there may be an iphone compatible cable out there. Note the TRRS pinout for android and iphone are different. I'll report back if there are any durability issues.

Buy it, free yourself from stiff, heavy cords
I wish I'd known about these cords when I first bought my Audio Technica headphones - I would've swapped out the AT cord immediately. AT headphones are first rate, but the straight cords are oddly, infuriatingly stiff and weighty (at least compared to these). What that means is tension at either end because it's unable to bend easily. These seem pliable and durable, not to mention lightweight. They fit perfectly into the AT jack, which is something I've heard can be difficult with AT's specific kind of jack. The volume control was an unexpected bonus, as I was only looking for a good replacement before my original cord gave up the ghost. But now *all* of my listening devices (bluetooth, ear buds, and headphones) all have volume control, and I couldn't be happier.

If I need another one, I’ll get the genuine.
I believe there is a higher level of impedance in this cable verses the original/A T cable as I don’t have the same level of volume on my Apple devises. There is a sticker that says “android” so I don’t know what’s that about unless it’s more compatible with android devices. It does have a lock-in at the connection point so that is s plus.If I need another one, I’ll get the genuine.

Pretty good doesn't work with a PS4 however.
Right out of the package it does everything it's advertised, and while thinner it doesn't seem to ruin Audio quality. I'm not disappointed by any means, but where it does fall short, and this may be buyer error, it doesn't work with my PS4. It recognizes a mic is there but it seems the mic doesn't work and if you choose to test it yourself beware and turn the volume down.

Good product and solid customer service
I accidentally ordered the the wrong cable (I got the one with a 2.5 mm jack on one end when I actually needed a cable with 3.5 mm on both ends) and I emailed the seller. Customers service was very good, quick to answer, nice, and the seller was kind enough to send me the correct cable even though it was my fault that I bought the wrong cable. When I got the compatible cable it worked perfectly as intended and the braided cloth around it made it durable. Overall, I would highly recommend this product and seller.

A very nice cable, but frustrating after a few weeks of use.
This cable is honestly very nice. The wrap feels good, the connections seemed sturdy, and the controller and mic worked great. BUT I have had this for less than a month, and I don't know what is more frustrating. The fact that it constantly pauses my music, or that it hangs up my calls for me?For some reason when it gets moved in just the right way on the 3.5mm connection end it does this. If I tap it or move it again, it will sometimes start playing again. Or skip to the next song. Some connection is messed up.I do use this every day, but to listen to music and take calls. Nothing crazy. I expected a lot more.

Works good with Ath-m40
Works really well. Seems to be well made. Time will tell durability. Will update if any failure.Cord is shorter than your think, but long enough to do the job.

Added some of my earbud's convenience to my M50x headphones.
The quality is good, locking mechanism solid. The mic is about what you get on standard earbuds, buttons nice and clicky. Good for the money.
