Must have for any small boat or kayak
Super sturdy and easy system to use. I just fastened it to the top of my ascend 10t kayak with 4 big screws no bolts and would have felt safe with just 2. You can find other units for less but watch out most have a smaller pully in the front.

The best I have found...
I have purchased five of these so far. Two for two canoes (fore & aft), and one for my new Jon boat (forward anchor). They have all worked exceptionally well, and do not rust!My Jon boat came with an aluminum anchor lock much like this one. It had a broken torsion spring. I wasted four hours manufacturing one, only to have it not work properly in the end. This model has no spring, and works far better! Sometimes, simpler is better! My anchor rope was thicker than this anchor lock would accommodate, so I drilled the hole a little larger, and it works just fine. I don't know what kind of plastic it is made from, but appears to be some type of fiber-reinforced product. It is certainly tough. None of them have ever broken. In closing, I took my canoe out on the Susquehanna River (foolishly) during flood stage and sank it. I dropped two anchors, fore and aft, and the current came up over the gunwales instantly swamping us. When I finally retrieved the canoe four weeks later (when the water level receded), it was held underwater at the same spot by both anchors, and the anchor locks were intact! The current on the Susquehanna is vicious and hard to read. Both my outriggers snapped off, but the anchors held! I was amazed...

Anchor deployment device
I just received it a couple of days ago and wish that I had found this year's ago, it's very well built and I believe I'll work perfectly for my little John boat. Size wise, it's about the same size as the old metal one, wich you can normally replace for less than this one but won't last as long , so I think this is a pretty good value.

Great product and great value...
I like this product. I purchased the channel version to use on my Yakattack mount and it works great. Build quality is good and have not had any issues with many hours of use. I use it on my inflatable kayak with a 5-8 pound anchor. I also use a cheap nylon 1/4 inch line, but I don't recommend it. 1/4 inch line works great, but it's worth spending more for a quality line due to the locking system. Typical "plastic" weaves tend to tangle or knot, but totally usable if you just want to use your existing line. Use is simple and efficient. I like this product so much, I'm thinking of a second one to avoid sway on windy days.Overall I would recommend this product.

Strong and handy
The other brands work just as well but these are the strongest built. The Atwood is the smallest but also the weakest by far.

Tangle Free
Having this device to lower and raise my anchor has been my best purchase in a long time. It is easy to lower my anchor when needed to stop my kayak in a honey hole and get several more casts in before moving on. Plus it is extremely easy to retrieve the anchor with only one hand. But the most important part, when lowering or raising the anchor, I have time to coil my rope so that each use is tangle free!

Great little anchor lock.
Was a little worried it would not be sturdy enough to work with my 8lbs anchor. I have used it now on 4 fishing trip without issue. Love it and would buy again.
