Perfect size and very detailed
I love to go shelling in Florida and North Carolina whenever I am lucky enough to be at the beach. I heard someone refer to the coquina shells as mollusks, so I wanted to clarify that. This little pamphlet answered my question. Mollusks are animals without backbones that use shells for homes for protection. So the coquina shell may house a mollusk. I can see how that could be confusing. I bought several of these for people's Christmas stockings. Since they are laminated, they can be taken to the beach. Nice.

Perfect gift
Bought this for a friend who collects shells when she visits Florida - back at home up north she sits and with her collection and learns what they are. Great printing, sturdy and colorful!

Shell Guide
love that it's waterproof! Shows all the things you might find on the beach. Also gives the best times to shell aglow and high tides.

This little booklet made our holiday!
A great little laminated sheet, about A4 size when opened, but folds concertina style to fit easily in a pocket or small bag. Ideal for basic shell spotting, and a nice way to engage the children. The main body relates to shell identification, but also short sections on when and where to look and how to care for shells if you are collecting them. We liked the way shells are divided into common finds, "good finds", and "rare treasures", so you knew if you'd found something really special. Still looking for the angulate wenteltrap...!
