Nice variety of colors, as you can see from my test swatch on white paper. I wish the 2 blues and 2 purples were not so similar in color, on the rocks they are indistinguishable. Very fine tip but it seems sturdy, I will test that out on 3-4th grade boys on Sunday at church. The nib does catch on any texture on the rock and can spatter if you are trying to go to quickly, and if you angle the nib, the paint doesn't come out. That is just how paint markers are. Get as smooth a rock as you can find. The drying time is very quick, maybe give 30 seconds before going to next color so they don't bleed - longer if you are painting on top of a color. They are somewhat opaque, but one coat isn't sufficient on a darker rock... and my rocks are not very dark in my photo. If you want full coverage, I would paint a white layer first, but not with the paint pen since it would take you forever because of the fine tip. On my rocks I made the letters several thicknesses wide so they would show up.

I have purchased several different brands to paint on primed and painted rocks. After using water based, I loved how the colors pop and really liked them for writing words and sayings. I did try a more expensive brand, but after quite a lot of use, I ordered a second box of these. I liked them better and they werent as temperamental. Box 2 looks exactly the same, purchased a month apart, but the second box of pens is just not as fun to use as the first. The writing isn't coming out as clean and clear, or lines as straight and I got some spattering which I did not have with box 1, which was frustrating. Even so, if I could buy the black and white fine points separately, I would. I really liked how writing with them came out.

Each pen has two tips one on each end, one a marker and the other acts like a paint brush. Nice variety of colors too

These pens are absolutely fabulous and super easy to work with! They are capable of making very fine marks for lettering, and also great at filling in a larger space for artwork. I've bought them twice I've been so pleased with them. They don't drip, or make a mess of any kind. They are perfect for writing with and drawing flowers and such for decorating rocks. I bought them for the purpose of writing a name on each stone, and the relationship to my dad, and placing them around his grave headstone. They work perfectly! Highly recommend! I purchased another set just in case my first set ran out of paint. I'm on stone #10 and I still have plenty of paint from my first set. These are super easy to work with, and the colors are vibrant and lovely. Definitely give these a try!

I like the fine tips on these pens for fine details while painting on wood. Nice bright colors make for some cool contrasting designs. A couple presses on the tip of the pens make for a good flowing paint but not so much that you get over saturation. Great for getting into small places on craft projects.

These pens work super well. I used them to art up my new bike and it turned out great! I had a minor hiccup with 2 of the pens- they started leaking. When I contacted the company about it, they were very prompt to make things right. All in all I'm super happy with these!

I wanted to be able to give these a great review, but, sorry... can't do. I only tried them on two surfaces, so they might work better on some than others. I used the to paint on wooden shoes used as yard art. Even though I had sealed the wood surface with clear coat the pens managed to get caught up in some of the grains and then spatter. Not very noticeable unless you are an artist or perfectionist... it got a little annoying. All said and done they did get the job done. Some of the paints were not opaque enough, so I went over them twice. Sometimes they drew smoothly, other times I had to shake a lot to get them to flow, and then they would blob, and waste a lot of pigment. Some of the colors would separate color from base, and I would have to shake and plunge to get them mixed up again. No instructions given for how to keep the points clean, and prevent excess paint from sticking in the cap and then it was hard to take the caps off. I just feel like a lot of the product was wasted with the bloopers. I also drew on some small vintage beads and I could not quite achieve the tiny detail that I was trying for. Some of the paint colors took a long time to dry, and the paint that went on thick did not dry hard... it stayed pliable and a bit tacky. I think these pens are good for signage and larger crafts, and not small petite works. In comparison to similar pens I have used in the past, these worked just as well, or better. This said, I would like to try the large tip ones on an appropriate project.

I bought these for my elderly mom for crafting and she loves them!
