Great little shelf

To finish up the decorating in my room, I knew what I wanted was shelves, and these were one of the first sets I saw. They came at the expected time and the setup was decently easy. It came well packaged and with a small bag of hooks to hang it on. However, I live in an apartment with two other (reasonably not handy women) and while we have a small tool set, we didn't have the drill necessary to install the hooks into my wall so I bought (what I thought would be) a sturdy, and reliable command hook that was advertised to hold 5 lbs. I installed it, decorated it, and left for the weekend to go home. Upon coming back, I was met with the fact that my command hook was not reliable and the entire shelf had fallen. I hung it back up, thinking it simply needed a new strip for the back of the command hook, and it fell minutes later and the bottom shelf broke in half. Now, I still give this product five stars because I can't blame the manufacturer for my own stupidity of hanging it back up after the command hook had already proven itself not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the shelf and everything on it (which, total, couldn't have been more than 4 lbs). So, for the brief time this lovely shelf hung in my room, I loved it and found everything about it easy and would recommend it to others. I would simply advise to either use the hardware included with the package or get a sturdy hook from your local hardware store because I don't recommend using Command Strips for this shelf.

Easy to hang, reasonably sturdy.

I think these shelves are pretty great for the money.I had two reservations based on other comments, which in the end were not big problems. First, the two planks are very light. But do appear made of solid wood. I have found them to be more than sufficient and supporting a good load (reasonable for any decorative shelving - I'm not running an industrial warehouse here). Second, rope adjustment which has two factors to consider. 1.) The configuration of how you hang the shelf (from a hook directly above and centered - or from a hook in the wall offset to the rear). 2.) Like all rope, these ropes have some stretch in them. So as you load or change the loading on the self (especially uneven loading) you may need to make adjustments after.One improvement I made, was to add two small sticky rubber bumpers on the back of each shelve so it does not mark up the wall.Final thought. This design is so simple, I sort of wish I had made my own. Picked the exact size, wood, stain, rope, and hook. However, I love these, and if you are a busy person, or don't have some basic tools, making your own may not be an option.

This shelf was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted something to hang in our stairwell to place live plants on. It's light weight, so if you want something heavier and sturdier, this is not the shelf for you. However, this was exactly what I was looking for.

Comes per-assembled but if you want more height between the shelves I assume you can untie and adjust the twine ropes but that seems like it would be a headache so I left it as is. I ended up using one of the hooks that came with the shelf to hang it. On the back of each shelf I put command strips on opposite ends of the shelves for two reasons: 1) to keep the shelves from constantly shifting/swinging when you touch it and 2) I read that the shelf paint could transfer to your walls so the command strips acts as a buffer between the shelf and the wall. The bottom shelf still tips forward slightly, but hardly noticeable. I had a candle on it but I think it might be too much for the command strips and cause them to pull away from the wall, so I removed the candle and will only keep lightweight items on it.UPDATE:The ropes shed badly. I got tired of cleaning it up. Also, the bottom shelf starting becoming more noticeable tilted despite the command strips behind the shelf holding it to the wall - eventually the command strip gave out. I ended up getting a metal wall shelf...much more sturdy, no shedding mess, and looks more modern. Unfortunately, I no longer recommend this product. I am returning it.

It came assembled and with hardware. Wish it had a third shelf.

I wanted a lightweight shelf for my jewelry box in our RV since countertop space is limited. It’s perfect and doesn’t stick out very far from wall which is also a plus. I simply hung 2 picture hooks with a wide lip and BAM, done with install :) You can adjust the shelves if they aren’t level by retying the knots but I did not have to do that thankfully.

its adorable!different from your average shelfI used adhesive hooks to hang italthough I recommend not putting any delicate breakable decorations with weight on them i lost 2 of my glass candle holders I used crazy glue on the hook it hasn't come off ever sinceotherwise very lovely to look at once its properly put up

This arrived quickly and is perfect for what I needed. It is two extra shelves all hanging from one hook, which is what I wanted. Advice - place some small furniture pads on the back of each shelf as the brown stain on the timber can transfer to your walls.
