excellent blender
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Excellent blender, works as promised. I have only used it for smoothies, but it is fantastic. It was quick, strong, easy to use and did an excellent job. Cleaning it was a breeze.

Wow - I think this could probably blend bricks!
I’ve been getting more into cooking from scratch, during the lockdown, and generally eating more healthily. I had a small / portable blender, for doing protein shakes, but it doesn’t have a big capacity and can’t blend anything too thick or heavy. I always like my gadgets to (a) look good - I’m a sucker for chrome or stainless steel - and (b) have plenty of settings, options and power! Although this is bigger than I was originally thinking about, the design attracted me - as did the brand, as I have bought Homgeek kitchen items before. I have a set of kitchen knives which are brilliant and still as sharp as the week I got them, and this blender had 1000+ positive reviews, so I knew I could be sure it would be good quality. There are two “WOW!” factors when you use this blender. Firstly, it’s HUGE. It’s beautifully-designed but big! Secondly, in use, the blades and the speed they go up to make you think it could blend pretty much anything - bricks, cars, planets, etc. With eight power levels and four presets (ice, smoothie, etc.) you have lots of choice and ability to make what you want the way you want. I’ve upgraded my protein shakes to 2-3 bananas, 8-10 ice cubes and 500-600 mls of milk which can keep me going for half a day. I’ve also used it to make my own hummus, which went better than I had expected and gave me a nice, smooth, home-made dip that I could mix to my own preference (hot and spicy). It’s surprisingly easy to clean - add water (and washing up liquid, if you want) into the jug, put the blender on for 10-15 seconds and then rinse it out and leave to dry on the side. This is a great-looking, powerful, machine.

a powerful blender !
my indian mixer blender died down recently and so i was looking for something suitable for an indian kitchen.i need the mixer blender for making chutneys, gravies, purees and wet grinding lentils, rice etc.there were some in the market which were way out of my budget and i am used to powerful appliances. this blender comes with a 2000W motor which is very powerful.with such a powerful motor crushing , grinding or blending happens in few mins. there is just one blade for everything. this one blade has 8 german stainless steel shaft which can cut through food easily and effortlessly.there are 8 adjustable speeds and 4 preset programms. this blender can blend soft foods as well as grind coffee beans. all this using ust one blender jug.the blender jug has good capacity of 2L which is sufficient for my family of 4. everything just gets done within seconds. instead of havig too many attachments which require lots of storage space, this blender is a boon. it has just one jug, one base and one set of blades and this can handle any kind of mixing, grinding etc.the jar is dishwasher safe yet i have found that if i add 1-2 drops of dishwashing liquid and put it in pulse mode, it cleans itself better .this comes with overheat protection technology. the base of this also has antislip feet which help keep this machine in place, while motor is working.an extremey useful appliance which can manage most of the cooking tasks. i ahve tried blending, pureeing, making chutneys, grinding peanuts etc in this, and everytime i have been amazed at the efficiency of ths.i am very happy with this purchase and will recommend it.

The best blender I've owned. This large capacity, robust, powerful, multipurpose device does it all.
UPDATE AND REWRITEThis is an update to my previous review (and a rewrite keeping all the facts as before) as I've now been able to use the Homgeek blender a lot since buying it. As such, I can safely say it’s the best blender I've ever owned. I'm not just saying that; I genuinely mean it. It’s such a pleasure that I'm finding excuses just to use it. Of course, the longer I have it the more I find out about it.NEW DISCOVERYFor instance, I've just discovered that as large a capacity jug as it has it can still be used for making small quantities too, so if I fancy a quick and healthy one-off drink then all I need do is put in a small amount of liquid (say 200 to 250 millilitres), add about the same measure of wholesome ingredients, and voila, in less than five minutes I have a liquidised nutritious meal. Add another few minutes to wash the jug and that's it — all over and done within about ten minutes, if that. This allows for endless off-the-cuff experimenting.USESThere's blending, smoothie and recipe ideas everywhere these days (think websites, social media, YouTube videos, ebooks, magazines, bookshops, free supermarket publications, and old recipe booklets from previous appliances) so there's huge scope for creating myriads of great ideas. What better way to see if you like something than by making smaller quantities first, and if you do then making up larger amounts to share and store (which you can easily do with this blender). After all, the jug has a 2 litre capacity so will hold more than enough for most purposes. As you can imagine, there’s no shortage of uses you can use the blender for (which you get a further idea from when I list the ideas in the included recipe book below). Basically though, you can make everything from cooling summer drinks to hearty winter warmers (but note that you’ll have to add hot liquid yourself as the blender doesn’t have a heating function) to meal replacements to indulgent treats to healthy dishes. It really is a very useful, versatile and capable device.HEALTHY DRINKSThankfully, when it comes to healthy drinks, blending tends to create fairly sweet-tasting concoctions (especially if you use dried or normal fruit) which is a superb way of introducing children or folk who normally eschew healthier eating to a more wholesome diet. Having trouble getting your five-a-day? Forget it! With this blender it will become a thing of the past because this has to be the easiest way of getting it, but why stop at five? In fact, getting much more is a doddle, and you’ll feel a lot better for it. The fact that unlike conventional ways of eating a nutritious diet, blending removes the need to chew so you get all the benefit of fruits, vegetables and nuts, etc without even trying. Blend and you're nourished (as it’s not only a blender but a powerful nutrient extractor too). It really is that simple. Also, blending, unlike juicing, ensures that you get all the nutrition from your fruits and vegetables and not just the juice. However, if juicing is your thing then just add more liquid and you'll soon get juice-like drinks without having to waste the other parts.POWERFUL MOTORHowever, making drinks is only part of the blender's usefulness as it'll also cover just about every aspect of blending, crushing and grinding you can think of. Coming equipped with a whopping 2000 watt motor (2.68 horsepower) it delivers a lot of power (in fact, more so than many other similar products in the non commercial market) and will whizz through everything in a breeze. Combined with the blades spinning at a maximum 30,000 rpm (500 revolutions per second) it’s going to crush, grind, blend, shred and puree almost anything: ice, nuts, grains, seeds, vegetables, fruits, salad leaves, dried fruits, coffee beans, cheese, bread, whatever; all of which can be ultimately pulverised down to a silky-smooth, cream-like and predominantly bit-free paste if you want it to (and more so than other blenders and nutrient extractors I've owned). 2000 watts is a lot of power but I always think with appliances it's better having too much than too little.QUALITYIt has all the hallmarks of being a quality device that should last for quite a time. It's a weighty and solid affair and looks to be fairly robust. (Even the eight hardened stainless steel blades are aircraft-grade.) Only time will tell though, but all the signs are there that I'll likely have it for a good while. It's certainly standing up to my repeated daily use. Even the jug is made from BPA-free Tritan (which means it's made from a durable plastic with a good degree of impact resistance, that's free from the industrial chemical BPA).JUGHaving such a large-capacity jug is especially useful. As stated, you can make smaller amounts if you want to but this jug will do a lot more. I found with my previous blender (a well-known nutrient extractor) that I was constantly struggling with its limited-size 80 millilitre blending cup. I was constantly running the device at full capacity as I had to continually fill the cup up to maximum to make the size of drinks I wanted. I doubt this did the motor any good. However, with this 2-litre (70 oz) jug I have more than enough capacity to do everything I want. And not only is there extra capacity but way more power too. I still don't overfill it as for most purposes a litre to a litre-and-a-half of content suffices. Just a quick word of advice though: the manufacturer recommends that when blending harder content you don't fill past the 500 millilitre mark. As such, I keep to this convention by grinding what I need first, and then adding softer content later on. As powerful as the motor is, the blender isn't a commercial product so still needs to be respected.HANDLE, TAMPER AND SAFETY FEATUREThe jug is temperature-resistant so can hold hot liquids. Because you may be handling a fairly full load of heated content there’s a large secure handle attached to both ends, which is sufficient to get a grip with both hands for safer handling. Also, there’s a tight-fitting lid (which for safety should always be on when operating to stop content from spilling over the top). If you need to push tougher or larger ingredients down towards the blades then a tamper is provided that goes through an aperture in the lid (sealed by a plastic stopper when not in use) which has a long enough reach but not sufficient to touch the blades (as it’s stopped from going right through by a lip). The jug also has a safety feature whereby as soon as you lift it off the base unit you disconnect the power from it. Obviously, for this reason you would never attempt to do anything with the jug while it’s still connected.CONTINUOUS RUNNING ADVICEYou can apparently continually use the blender for about five to ten minutes before having to switch it off to let the motor cool (which is a big step-up from my previous device which stated that it should run for no more than a minute at any one time). If you do overuse it then it's protected by an overheating mechanism to prevent damage. From my own usage, I'm nowhere near these markers and can easily do everything I need in far less time. Even if you do have to switch off the device after a while then you can easily go back to it after about ten to fifteen minutes when it’s cooled and continue.PRESET FUNCTIONS AND SPEED CONTROLSThe blender has four preset functions and eight speed settings. The functions are: Ice Crush for crushing ice to snow; Smoothie for creating thicker drinks that use denser or frozen ingredients; Grind for grinding nuts, grains, seeds and coffee beans, etc.; and Pulse for stirring, chopping and mincing. Pulse is a burst mode that operates for as long as you keep your finger on the button, thus giving you the flexibility to chop or mince lightly or more thoroughly. I frequently use the smoothie function, which runs for 50 seconds, but which can be switched off anytime before that by the big start / stop button on the front of the base unit. [Please be aware that in the normal operation of some of these presets (such as the smoothie function) there’s automatic speed variances to ensure efficient blending.] The eight individual speed settings are set speeds, but can be adjusted up or down while the blender is operating. This is achieved by rotating the dial on the outside of the start / stop button left or right. There’s also an LED timer on the front of the base unit, which counts in seconds, to save having to keep an eye on an external timer. [Where possible, I would recommend adding liquid when grinding and blending as the weight of it will keep the ingredients within the vicinity of the blades instead of sometimes pushing them to the side of the jug as per dry content.]WASHINGWashing is quick and easy as the blender does most of it for you. Although the jug is dishwasher safe I wash it by hand. I’ll give the base unit a quick wipe over with a damp cloth and then I’ll rinse the jug under running water to get rid of stickier content, before half-filling it with warm (not hot) water, of which I’ll add a drop of washing-up liquid. I’ll then select the lowest speed setting and let it run for about ten seconds (remembering, of course, to put the lid on). This does a remarkably good job of cleaning it. Finally, I’ll rinse the jug again to get rid of the soap suds, give it a quick wipe around the top, and then dry it. Although the lid usually needs to be washed separately to get it completely clean, it still only takes me about five-minutes in total to wash everything. Please be aware that the blades are attached to the bottom of the jug and don't appear to come out as a separate unit. They’re sharp but not razor sharp so you can get your hand in to dry them and remain reasonably safe providing you’re careful.STORAGEIf you’re going to store the blender when not in use then you’ll need a shelf or cupboard height of about twelve inches to comfortably stand the jug in, and if you’re going to store the base unit next to it then you’ll need fourteen inches for a tight fit and eighteen inches for a looser one.APPEARANCEIt’s a stylish appliance, and I’m sure its sleek modern design would grace any kitchen. It would certainly make an attractive and useful gift. You’re probably already guessed, but it comes well-packaged in a colourful box.NUTRIENT EXTRACTORAs an efficient nutrient extractor it's an excellent choice for anyone participating in a fit, active and healthy lifestyle as it'll help provide the nutrients needed both for the activity itself and the recovery period afterwards. As such, it's a good way of preparing protein shakes and sports' drinks as you can also add whatever else you like for additional benefits.ALTERNATIVE USESAn added bonus is that the blender is ideal for anyone who has any kind of chewing difficulties (such as someone with teeth or gum problems) as by creating healthy drinks that person can still get a good complement of daily vitamins and minerals and other elements without having to fight with or negate otherwise healthy meals.MEAL REPLACEMENTSAnd mentioning meals, blended drinks are excellent sources of meal replacements because they can be consumed on the go and taken with you as healthy alternatives to the usual fare that may be bought if in a hurry. Of course, if you need higher calorific content then you can easily add milk, nuts, seeds, yoghurt, nut milks, desiccated coconut and avocados.INDULGENCESNaturally, you don’t have to keep to healthy options as you can just as easily create indulgent smoothies and drinks with ice cream, cream, chocolate and whatever else you want to throw into the mix. As stated, the jug can handle hot liquids so you can easily mix up a quick and delicious chocolatey drink or ice cream surprise.INSTRUCTION MANUAL / WARNINGThe instruction manual is in the form of a multilingual black and white booklet. Although poorly translated in places it nevertheless tells you everything you need to know. Please note that on page eight there's an error whereby in step three of 'Using the Blender' it states: 'Machine will not work when jug or lid doesn't match well'. This is incorrect as the blender will work when the lid doesn't match (i.e. not sitting on straight). In fact, it will work even with the lid off (although you would never want to use it as such). Thankfully, this is corrected in the warning a little further down the page whereby it states not to put body parts or foreign objects in the blender while in use (which it wouldn't do if the lid is an intricate safety feature).RECIPE BOOKA little colour recipe book is included with a selection of dips, soups, sauces, marinades, curry pastes, deserts, mocktails, cocktails, smoothies, juices, nut milks and butters, and baby foods. There’s the odd error in it too, but it gives a reasonable overview of everything the blender can do. As handy as it is, as stated above, there’s plenty of alternatives. Of course, as also stated, you can experiment too. I do, and throw in anything and everything as I see fit, which greatly extends my possibilities.WARRANTYThe blender comes with a standard one-year warranty, but if you register it with Homgeek they will give you an extra three months. If instead you prefer to extend the warranty through Amazon then there’s a range of options available at the time of ordering. You can buy a replacement jug through Amazon too, if need be.FIRST USEOne thing to note is that upon first use (and possibly for a few times afterwards) there may be a slight odour when the blender is running. This is normal and comes from the motor’s initial usage (and is recognised by the manufacturer). It should soon disappear.FINALLY...To conclude, I’m very pleased with this blender. It's my first Homgeek product and I'm much impressed, and will be looking for the name again in the future. I've used it numerous times and am still convinced I’ve made the right choice, as it does everything I want it to, and well. As such, it’s a solid recommendation from me.Please note that this is an independent review with no connection to the supplier or manufacturer.
