Fits 2002 Chevy Avalanche 2500 8.1L
I went through a lot of reviews of this fuel door and others. This one appeared to have the highest ratings. However there was still some confusion in selecting this one. Several people posted that it doesn't fit the Avalanche, and some say it did. Until I found some with pictures showing it clearly does install on an Avalanche I wasn't going to purchase it. Once I did confirm, it does fit, I placed my order. Installation was easy (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS) first! As for the fit, it's not absolutely perfect, but it looks great and I'm pleased with the installation and product. There is a very small gap, not the 1/8th or even 1/4" that others have reported. This may be because my 2002 Avalanche has the plastic cladding where later versions did not. No matter, I didn't like the later versions anyway. Too bad Chevy advertised the Avalanche as a soccer mom SUV than a truly great work truck. The new fuel door gives the truck a little more truck look. Time for a new outdoor picture with the new fuel door - once the new SnugTop shell is added in a few weeks!

Fit 2005 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab
Took me over a year to find this part. Tried to purchase on a site called Dana Port. I was taken for sadly. But not as bad as other victims who’ve suffered thousands of dollars in their scam. I was happy to find here. Fits perfectly. No complaints

Good Product, Bad Fit
I purchased this locking gas door for my 2005 Avalanche after it was stolen in hopes of improving the security of the vehicle (making it more difficult for thieves to make any long distance voyages). The quality of the product seems great, and I think it adds to the aesthetics of the vehicle, however, it does not fit the Avalanche as advertised. Due to he contour of the rear quarter panel, where the filler cap is (versus the flat mounting surface of the fuel door for the same vintage Silverado, in front of the rear wheel), the locking gas door does not mount flush with the body. It is not contoured to match the body, therefore the rear part of the fuel door is raised 1/8-1/4" (leaving room to stick a screwdriver between it and the body). For security, no good. For looks, so-so. Again, this is on a 2005 Avalanche (Suburban & Tahoe share the same contour), and I've seen the same product fit nicely on the Silverado.

Peace of mind
This metal gas door is very solid, well made and attractive. The matte black finish blends perfectly with my sons black satin 02 Silverado. The door and locking mechanism keep the gas secure from tampering. Yes, there is a gap at the top, but not enough to be concerned about. I am pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this door if you want to keep idiots away from your gas.

not what i had hoped for
this fuel door looks great in the package. I installed it on my 2004 Chevy 2500HD in about ten minutes. The fit wasn't all that great, but the biggest problem is that it doesn't follow the contours of your truck bed. The top edge sticks out past the bed. I live in Western New York, it started to rain that night then dropped below 30 degrees. The next morning I needed to fuel up and the door had frozen from the inside. Needless to say I would not recommend this to anyone. After two months I still have it on the truck, but I recently bought a used fuel door off of a salvaged truck from the junk yard and will be putting that on instead.

the cover is nice in that it matches the cladding of the avalanche
pros=..the cover is nice in that it matches the cladding of the avalanche...good price..fairly easy to installcons=..the rubber inserts that are supposed to retain the metric screws that hold the locking bracket suck!!! they don't hold s***,, i had to stop mid process and go purchase nuts and washers to secure the screws from the inside....the door needs to have a slight curvature to match the body ....we shall see how it holds up to the fuel splash, ocean air and southern cali weather in time...

Worth the price
Easy to install. Four bolts. Solid piece of metal. Come with four keys! I have a dark gray Silverado and it looks good on it. Well worth the price.

Great way to secure your fuel system and looks nice ...
Great way to secure your fuel system and looks nice to boot. The instructions were not that great, especially for the non-hinge side of the door which was clearly machined to be mounted behind the body not on it which would make it sick out and not be flush. I did a little custom install replacing the chrome allen head pieces with self tapping screws for a much more secure mount and it sits nicely flush.

Awesome fit and quick to install
Awesome fit and quick to install. Price was great for an actual fuel door and not the sticky type. Seen exact same door for double what this was

Nice quality Fuel door replacement
Great product. Used it to replace my rusted fuel door on a 2000 GMC Sierra. Only thing was it does not seem to fit 100% flush compared to the original, still looks great though. All In all, I would recommend this product

This is a poor fit and poor installing just crap.
This dose not have the curve in it like the original cover, sticks out on the top and bottom. Plastic spacers had to be replaced with washers. Just a joke to install. This I think is crap and worth about $20
