Great Item, Great Price!
Right out of the box I tried it and it worked well playing a movie. I thought I read a review that said it didn’t play movies, but surprisingly it does. It’s very lightweight and compact. Easy setup, just plugged it into my MacBook and it worked.

IT's not a plug and play device.
It required to may additional pieces of software which did not work either. Did not want to take additional time to set it up with other required software. PRICE was good but product was not what I expected, returned to Amazon.

Caveat Emptor
Edit: I noticed it's $30, and not $20. Knocked off a star for that. It'll still work for what I need, and I can't return because I took it apart, but it isn't as advertised.Internally, it's a standard laptop dvd rewriter with slimline sata connector, mine had a drive made by Hitachi in it. The drive, however, is old stock from 2008. It looks like it isn't used, but was stored in bulk because of all the scuffs. The drive is held in via a strip of ahesive tape around the interface board instead of any screws, but that should be good enough for normal use. That's where it really misses the mark though- the USB plug is 3.0, but the cable only contains 2.0 wires, and the board also has no provisions for USB 2.0. It included a USB C adapter, loose inside the box.As a minor point, the drive bezel doesn't match the pictures, either. Mine didn't have the disc type logos printed on it, just the odd embossed arrow design. So, it's not really a USB 3.0 drive, and is very cheaply made.
