C. B. GittyTin Pan Alley' 3-String Paint Can Resonator Box Guitar DIY Kit

My first CB Gitty kit and build. Everything needed and I put my own creative finish to give it some character. Very pleased with the quality of each component and the sound. Easy to play and good action on the fretboard. Like it so much just purchased another one ! Easy to assemble with som simple wood working tools.

All kidding aside, the customer service at CBGitty is second to none, and the laser-cut kits are fantastic for beginning enthusiasts like me to get my feet wet. I can't tell you how fun it is to play. I have upgraded it to use a GittyBucker pickup with tone and volume controls, as well as a dual spring internal reverb. It sounds fantastic, and really adds an organic sense of roots authenticity to pretty much any kind of music you want to play. Great guitar, easy to make.I would make one comment, and that is use white glue on this everywhere EXCEPT for the top. Use hide glue for that in case you later wish to decide to open it up and make some modifications as I did. A lesson from upright bass and violin luthiery that I applied here let me make the mods without much fuss, as hide glue is heat and damp reversible.

This was a joy to build and play. I added some faux old travel stickers and stain for a real old-timey look. Even without an electric pickup, it's got a very strong sound to it. Makes a great project to do with your kid(s).

Instructions were clear, components were good quality, added electronics so that I can play it through my amp.Looking forward to my next build

I ordered it as my first cigar box style guitar and it did not disappoint. Well worth the money and has inspired me to build my own from scratch.

Lots of fun to build. You could be playing it in a couple of hours or take as much time as you like on customizing and finishing. I added springs to the inside to give it some reverb, piezo bottle cap pickups and some other parts from gitty and Amazon.

This was fun and easy to put together. The components are quality, and it looks and sounds great.

Overall, this is not a difficult guitar to assemble. However, mine came with a bowed neck and the nut was too low. Hard to intonate after having to replace the nut.
