the plastic base is ridiculously cheap, and i fully expect it to break apart after replacing the battery a handful of times.that said, still ridiculously happy with the "candle" itself. it has a beautiful soft orange ambient glow, and while no one would ever mistake it for a real candle, the lighting effect was what i was after. the dipped taper also works well to mimic the light diffusion through wax, something that no other battery operated candle i've purchased has managed to achieve, and that really helps make these look amazing.

i like 'affordable' but not when CHEAP price means inferior materials & manufacturing. after buying 30 + battery candles from here & Michaels & other retailers, the bottom line is they're all made in china, they're all so shoddy 1 can barely put them together. the plastic is so cheap & the fit and finish is so poor that if 1 isn't extremely careful u will strip the threads on the 1st try & then nearly impossible to fix since the cheap plastic tears/warps/distorts after the 1st try. i'd rather pay more for such products made from quality materials, with proper customer support & instructions that make sense & i am fed up with all this totally inferior chinese products. finally, after DAYS of messing w/them, i got both to work

I am really pleased with these candles. They are a little larger on the bottom compared to most pillar candles. I have found that a lot of candle holders have a hole larger than the base of the candle. These candles fit perfectly in my holders without tipping to one side or falling out. Great purchase.

The candles overall are nice. Wax covered with drips look good. Timer works well, turns on and off each day. Batteries last well. I bought the black candles for Halloween. My only dislike is the flame part is a little dark, like a smoke over the flame, and you can barely tell they are on. Had the flame not been darkened, would have rated a 5 star.

I was torn between two and three stars but I landed on three because I really do like the aesthetic. I couldn't find any other candles with the drippy wax look that I was going for. I got the orange because it was closest to a beeswax color. Now for the strange part...There is no ON or OFF button. You put the batteries in, and they turn on. They stay on for 6 hours, then turn off and turn back on 24 hours after they turned on in the first place. So if you want to restart the timer you literally have to take the batteries out, and put them back in. WEIRD! If there's no on or off button on the candles itself you would think it would at least come with a remote but nope! But if you can get past the strange foibles you may like them. Also - they took forever to arrive; about three weeks. (Prime has spoiled me.) Anyway - that's the scoop on these quirky candles.

I've really come to depend on timed electric candles.: I don't like to leave candles burning, and I don't want to be running around plugging things in or turning things on. Not only are these just what I want, the color is beautiful, a nice deep red that is perfect (nearly cranberry). I'm very happy with them.

I found that the candle worked great, with the perfect glow and brightness but the wax at the base chipped after 2 uses. I am not sure if I will be tossing them or try to paint the plastic under where the wax was to match the wax on the rest of the candle. Time will tell. For now they have been switched out for the spring and supper, lighter candles.

I wasn’t sure if I’d like these, but they are actually working pretty well. Only problem is the base seems too big to fit in the candle holder I have. I have to work the candles in to the base of the candlestick and then that activates the battery on the bottom when trying to have it off. There’s also no instructions so I was trying to figure out how to turn them on until I realized you had to screw the bottom tight. Wish there was a remote too.

Had to wait a while as they come from China but worth it ….realistic looking made of wax and look convincing when lit. Timer works well too. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend

It took over three weeks to get my order and I'm a Prime Member.The candles were put in the same type of cellophane you'd get with a popsicle. Very flimsy. Then it was put in a small box. THAT was put in a blue and white Amazon padded envelope.Now a very intelligent person in New Jersey thought that would be perfectly secure to send to Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada. What could possibly go wrong?Please remember, these are waxed dipped, battery operated, plastic candles.Also it's black wax on white plastic. The amount of black wax that chipped off to expose the white underneath made them ugly and unusable.

It's surprisingly nice, way more than the picture online. The wax has a natural antique look to it. The bulb could look more like a flame...but then again, I bought a "fake" candle LoL. Very pleased with it.

Cute and looks nice in our wall sconces. I just wish that it came with a remote to turn it off and on, so I wouldn’t have to remove them from the sconces every time to turn on and off.

Like the look of the waxy exterior, the soft flicker and the simple on/off twist of the base cap.
