So versatile across all my Apple devices!
This little powerhouse works on all my Apple devices, macbook iPad, iPhone as it handles either USB C and lightning connections! Everyone knows YubiKey for it's strong security. The delight to this 5Ci model is that I works on all these devices. Of course, it works on Windows and Chromebook too, where you might already have a USB C connector, but if you only have USB A, you can separately buy a standard USB C to USB A adapter and it works the same! Use it, don't lose it!

You may not need a lightning plug for much longer - this one is very expensive for what it is
This one is a bit pricey but it necessary if one still has an older ipad without USB-C. It works well. Apple has finally made their ipad USB-C port compatible with yubikey, I haven't tested that. I have used this key with windows and Mac PC's, as well as with an iphone and it works easily and well. I also own a USB-C NFC and that also works easily, except with an old ipad. You need to have at least 2 keys in case one gets lost, and I recommend that the second key be a cheaper version as you don't need a complete drop-in replacement you just need the backup key to add a replacement key.You should know that using a security key to lock down an apple account means that you lose the ability to ask Apple to unlock your account should you lose your yubikey, which can be a big deal. Other accounts are not as strict and treat the yubikeys as just another second factor. This is a complicated product and I am enjoying getting to learn about using it. Yubico has great support materials on their website and good links to external sites for various accounts and services you might use their key with.Since this version is pricey (about $25 more than the USB-C/NFC one), I would recommend only getting one of these, and then a cheaper different yubikey as a backup. The backup device is only necessary if the first gets lost, and once you replace the lost key you only need the backup on one device to do the task of adding the replacement key to all your accounts. This is a bit cumbersome but hopefully it'll get easier with time.Last thing - this key has it's keyring hole in the center, which works surprisingly well; it sits on my keychain nicely even though I worried it wouldn't.TL;DR - great product but security keys can be "dangerous" and are not for everyone. This one is pricey because it supports an edge use case (old ipads).Edit to add—I also own a USC-C NFC version of yubikey, which is similar to this product but is cheaper. I wanted to add that the lightning/USB yubikey is my favorite form factor as it is much SMALLER and I also prefer the activation mechanism of pinching it instead of touching a metal front.

Great Security Keys, But Tricky for First-Timers!
I recently got my YubiKey security keys for my online accounts' setup. A couple of things I learned:(1) For Apple icloud 2FA purposes, you need minimum of 2 keys so I wish I’d bought a second one upfront.(2) As a first-time user, I found the setup a bit confusing at first. I thought the key would work like a USB drive, but you actually need to touch the metal contacts on the sides to activate it. Once I figured that out, it worked fine. It’s a solid option for extra security, though it takes a moment to get the hang of it.

Works great! Buy two!
I don’t know if I reviewed this already or not. Guess not. This works great. You MUST buy two though. You keep one in a safe place at home, and carry the other one around with you. I tied a tiny piece of ribbon on each, different colors, so I can tell them apart. It works great. I haven’t had any problems, so I can’t say anything about customer support, sorry. I keep the one I carry around in a little case, and put keychain things on that. I did all that because it is so tiny, I would lose it if I didn’t.

It’s okay
After having an account hacked and researching ways to make them more secure, I learned about security keys. I feel a lot better about my info along with my accounts for having another way to protect my stuff but I do think that this was on the more expensive side. I wish it was bigger as it can be lost easily. I also wish it came with directions as I am a first timer with security keys. All in all, I recommend buying one if you want more security

BEWARE: to get the most up-to-date version you HAVE to buy from Yubico site
The product itself is A++++, 6/5 stars, highly recommend. BUT: because this is tamper-resistant hardware, you cannot upgrade/update the firmware. The version you get is the version you will always have. The latest version 5.7+ is the firmware update that takes your Fido2 credential capacity from 25 accounts to 100 accounts. This is for 5.7+ only, meaning if you buy from Amazon like I did there is no guarantee you’re getting the latest version (like in my case). Therefore when you read specifications for yubikeys always remember that they are firmware version specific. They cost the same exact price as they do on Yubico, so why not buy there? If you buy here your getting 1/4 the capabilities of the device for the same price. Also I was sent one with only the lighting end functioning and c end broken. Got a new one but still with outdated firmware. Product is still great I just don’t see this disclaimer anywhere on this site so I will be the one to make it.The firmware is non-upgradeable, by design, and for good reasons. Therefore this product should not even be listed on Amazon, don’t make my mistake. Go to the manufacturer to purchase

Yubico Device Did Not Work!
Per my bank, I was told to use this device. I tried, with the help of Apple, three different Customer Service representatives, escalated; after this device did not work on my iPhone 14 Pro; I requested a return. Amazon was so helpful and professional about the issue; and allowed me to return it for a full refund! Five Stars ⭐️ for Amazon, 1 Star for the device!

Great security key with dual connectors!
I bought this specifically for the dual Lightning and USB-C support. I’m currently using an iPhone 14 with the older charging port, but I plan to upgrade to the latest iPhone soon, so I wanted a key that would work with both. It’s been easy to use, very functional, and gives me peace of mind knowing my accounts are more secure. I love the concept and highly recommend it to anyone looking to step up their online security.
