Very good, you will be surprised!
It produces very good frequency range, low and high, at volumes that may be too much for many people. Good quality sound at good listening volume. FM tuner is very good too. Plays MP3s spot on. You’ll be laughing at the awesomeness!I am using some old Kenwood speakers (2) of them, 10” woofer, 4 3/8” midrange and 1 3/4” tweeter, walnut ported cabinets, 40hz to 20 kHzJan 18, still amazed and pleased!

My second purchase
This is the second purchase of the exact same model. It drive 4 ceiling speakers in my kitchen and sounds fine. Volume is more than sufficient. Here in the NYC area, FM reception is good. My wife uses it mostly via bluetooth to play iheartradio. There are more than enough inputs. For me it was all rather intuitive except how to first use the FM. The unit must scan the band and then it stores the active stations. From there you can switch from one active channel to the next higher or lower. IIRC, you can enter the frequency using the remote as well. This unit replaces a rather old but working Tandy/Radio Shack stereo receiver/amp that was lacking bluetooth. This unit is easier to use by far. Well worth the price (bought it on Prime day)

Poor quality parts/manufacturing - died after 8 months
I was using this amplifier to power my outdoor speakers using the auxiliary in sourced from my stereo aux out. After 8 months of very occasional use, the amplifier stopped producing sound. I verified everything was correct with an alternative source and different speakers, so it seemed something was wrong with the amplifier's output stage. As it was in the 1 year warranty, I contacted Pyle support to understand the options. The email support was very responsive and indicated I could send the unit out for warranty repairs, paying shipping each way ($20 each) and if the support decided the repair was not "warrantable", pay an additional $60. So all in, $100 to repair a unit that originally cost $65 including shipping, plus wait 4-6 weeks for the repair to complete. Really not what I was looking for, and for me, was not an option.I understand that it isn't an expensive product, but failing after 8 months with maybe 80 hours of runtime is unacceptable. It really is a "pile". So buyers beware and look elsewhere to spend your money.p.s., I really did not need the Bluetooth option so I never tested it out too much, but the volume with Bluetooth was much lower, and the connectivity was only marginal - the source had to be kept close or the signal dropped. Really not much of a value add.As for the sound quality, for my purposes, it was pretty good and better than the previous solution that I had - but that one lasted over 10 years, so no complaints. Thank you Radio Shack! :-) It's just too bad it's so poorly manufactured. I like the "made in USA" angle, but not if it amounts to creating more e-waste.

Pretty cheaply made but compact
I wanted a compact modestly powered amp with balance control for my bedroom and there are very few choices that still include a balance control today. It is essential in my opinion, but missing from several hundred compact amps sold by Amazon so I was left with few choices and I waded through small amp selections on and off for years before deciding on this one.The remote control has only one function that works with this amp so it is almost worthless. It can only control channel search or song file scrolling, the power on/off command button does nothing. I do not have, nor need, a smart phone so I have no use for the bluetooth features. I use the amp every night on a timer that shuts off after one hour, for falling asleep to music from radio or internet radio. When you power up the amp you hear a relay click. There is very little waste heat from this on low volume and I have never tested out high volumes. There is no loudness control so I have to keep the bass adjust on high. The digital radio is reasonably sensitive to distant stations when you use the wire antenna provided, there is no telescopic antenna as seen in some illustrations. The radio remembers the last station that was tuned, even after power disruptions. That would have been a deal breaker for me.THE LED POWER LIGHT, VOLUME KNOB AND LCD DISPLAY ARE ALL ABSURDLY BRIGHT, had to place black tape over all of them. They are all blue, the worst color to have in the bedroom if you have trouble falling asleep. For other uses you might like the brightness. The 200 watt rating is BS, only questionably true for 4 ohm speakers. I never ran this amp loud enough to detect any distortion. When I tried to input music through the front 1/8th inch minijack, it came through very distorted and scratchy, very poor quality input plug on the front, but the rear connectors offer solid options for signal inputs. Soft rubber feet on the case bottom.

Great things do come in small packages
I bought this for a unique use. An amp for speakers for a music keyboard. It did not work out as I anticipated for that use, but that’s not because of any shortcoming of the unit. I found this unit to be quality. Played fine, Volume was Loud and clear. I liked the small form factor. Smaller than a regular receiver, but with bigger sound. Cool little unit.

The advertisement states AM/FM radio but this PDA5BU unit is ONLY FM RADIO. NO AM RADIO.
It is good in that it bluetooths well, and plays FM radio well. What was disappointing is that there is NO AM radio function and there was mention of AM/FM in the advertisement. I will keep it but wish that it did have the AM function since my wife listens to AM talk radio often. Working wise, it seems pretty good.
