Dissolves
Like it says it dissolves rust . Never seen a product that works as well . If you can’t soak it just keep brushing it on

Requires multiple applications to do anything at all
I have a smooth steel sculpture outside my front door. Most of the paint finish had long gone, and was replaced by an equally smooth, thin layer of rust. Because of the nature of the rust, I wonder if the metal is Cor 10 steel. I wire brushed it, which wasn't really necessary and applied 5 coats of this product at 15-30 min. intervals with a brush. I even wire brushed it again, but the rust was barely changed.The instructions call for temperatures over 70 deg. F, and maintaining a wet surface. This product is a very thin, fairly volatile liquid, so meeting these requirements would require almost continuous application. I'll see if I can get a refund and buy a gel product instead.

Worked too good
used this to clean out some gunk and rust in the bottom of my outboard gas can. Came down the next day after dumping into gas can to find the liquid all over the garage floor and had about a dozen pin hole leaks in the gas can after this product took out all the rust. Guess that's a good thing. Plugged and coated with Pro 15 and it's all good now. Can is clean and holds gas just fine.
