Replaced previous model, looks just as good and compact as previous model, but I note this one has warnings lights for battery and end of life, which is good. This is a much improved model with additional features.

A well constructed CO monitor and alarm, discreet size (about the size of a cigarette packet), really easy to fix to a wall - screws and rawl plugs are included. When the backplate is fixed to the wall, the unit slides on and off seamlessly for battery changing.Comes with good quality (3 x AA) long life batteries. This monitor can also be freestanding near a portable appliance.A twenty-three page booklet fully explains safety information in a user friendly, easy to read and understand format.Instructions on how to install and set up are simple (even I could understand them); recommended locations; how to use the alarm.It explains the symptoms of exposure to carbon monoxide and at what levels it becomes increasingly more toxic.The alarm will sound if monoxide levels rise over 50 parts per million, even though most humans won't notice any symptoms of toxicity until 100 parts per million (slight headache) with prolonged exposure.Higher levels of monoxide (300ppm and above), enough to cause dizziness and headache with prolonged exposure, the monitor's alarm will have sounded within three minutes, so that's pretty good to know.The alarm is a loud 85 decibel 'pulse' of 4 beats, repeating, with a red flashing LED. Instructions on 'what to do' are clear.There's also a comprehensive 'Troubleshooting' guide.This model is fully compliant with requirements for domestic premises and has a ten-year lifespan. The monitor even tells you when it's time to change the batteries, as well as when it's time to replace the unit.I bought this to replace an inferior CO monitor in the guest cottage, as the legislation has changed, and it was time for an upgrade.I'm so impressed with this one, I think I'll get another one of these for my own house.

These are very good. Fantastic design. Look good. Very robust.The lcd display gives a good indication of any CO present before the warning sounds.Packaging is superb, and butteries aren't included which was a nice surprise.

Recently had a gas fire / boiler service completed and was advised to pickup a carbon monoxide detector, after all you can't smell or see the danger coming. After several searches this is the main one that was recommended by the vast majority and when you search for anything to do with fire safety, the name Kidde is at the forefront, whether is alarms, detectors or extinguishers.instructions are simple and alarm is ready within a few minutes out of the box. Judging from the test button, you certainly won't miss a warning when the alarm sounds and unit has user replaceable batteries. Sensor is marked up for 10 years of use and includes a marking sticker so you can note when it has been put in place.Only given fours stars as I can not say how well it would detect carbon monoxide in reality but based on the last service, my gas engineer wasn't lying about being monoxide free.

Works well. Note anyone who is testing this product with natural gas in the reviews then giving it one star for not working (there are a few!) is testing the entirely wrong thing - this is a CO detector, not a natural gas one. It won’t alarm in the presence of gas from a cooker as that’s not what it’s for. You can test using a blown out candle - works perfectly.

We have three of these.One that we purchased in 2018 recently stopped working.I called Kidde and sent an email with details of the problem.Within a couple of hours they had replied with instructions for testing and asking that I let them know what I saw on the appliance.The next day I received a replacement (on a Saturday).This took just over 24 hours to sort out, with no quibbling or prevarication.Thank you Kidde, you deserve an award for customer service!!

Arrived in excellent time. Me being silly didn't properly read instructions but after minor hiccup a VERY loud test alarm sounded and I nearly went through the roof!! This is a replacement for one I bought years ago and it's a great little alarm. And many thanks for the quick response to my query from the seller. Back in 10 years' time for the next replacement. 😊
