Very useful inserts
For use in RC Model aircraft they work very well. The thread form internally is snug and not too tight or loose and thus far are working very well holding on cowlings. Some indication of recommended hole size for fitting them would be useful as I stripped them out of some hard wood on the first attempts at fitting and used Super glue to assist the fixing in place.

Great tool , but can split if not inserted with care
These insets are just what I needed for a project. Some did break as I inserted them using the keyway, so I used a nut and bolt tool threaded through the insert to twist it into place, then removed the nut and bolt tool.

lack strength to truly self-tap
Used these to fix an old original AnglePoise. it took three or four of them to tap the thread, each one cracking at various points. They are cheap and do the job, as long as you account for lots of spares.
