That it will not kill a Cat
My neighbor kept open dishes of mouse and rat poison in his garage, he left the door open for a while and then left for three days. My cat was in his garage and ate the poison, when our cat was let out and came home he was sick and almost dead, we took him to the emergency vet who saved him for $6000.00.I bought my neighbor some plastic bait boxes that hold rat poison and I now have my cat wear a tracker whenever he goes outside so I can keep track of where he goes all day!Itâs going to take a year to come back up with the money I was going to pay for a new fence on the west side of my house between me and that neighbor the money was for!!

Does NOT work at all
I have been using this product every day since it arrived about 3 months ago and mice and rats have no interest in it at all. Not one piece of it has ever been nibbled on and I wore gloves to handle the bucket and a stainless steel tong to set the wafers down in the perimeter of the space where mice and rats leave sign. My goal was to use this instead of Tomcat or One Bite so that I could protect other species in the food chain. It simply has not worked at all. Literally not 1 nibble in 3 months.

Kills the vermin, spares the pets, the livestock, and the wildlife
When they gutted the hoarderâs house across the road for renovation last winter, we inherited an entire colony of rats. Our small family farm already feels the pressure of feed price increasesâ I resent paying for quality nutrition that gets stolen by uninvited spreaders of disease. I will not risk killing our dog/chickens/ducks (nor do I want to be responsible for dead raptors, or for killing that little feral calico who comes to the barn at night to hunt) and that is a very real possibility when poisoned rodents get eaten by other animals, and/or poison is set out around a farm. This stuff is the only thing I could find which cannot hurt any âinnocent bystanderâ animals AND it has proven to be effective! I followed the advice of other reviewers; I made little individual snack-size ziplocks with a little chicken scratch and 3-4 discs of poison in each, and I tucked them into the various rat tunnels around our barn. We are on our second tub of the Rat-X, and into our second month of treatment, but there is steady progress being made on what was a staggering population. Even though we store all our feed inside metal trash cans, it is still a constant struggle to prevent the rats from raiding poultry feeders or exploiting any sheep feed spilled by hungry, jostling sheep. There are no concrete floors in our barn, half our winter hay delivery is already stacked in the aisle, and there will always be a daily influx of foodâŚitâs an extremely daunting situation for pest control! This stuff has really worked for us, in spite of those obstacles, and I could not be happier. Sure, I wish it worked instantaneously, but itâs SAFE for everyone I want to keep alive, and that is of vital concern here!!

Usually can't get them to eat it...
If there is food available in the smallest amount the rats won't bother touching this. I think that's the reason it doesn't work too well but it does work. This is my third update. I was using two products but not at the same time. I started conntraceptol to prevent rat babies. It's birth control. Did that for a year. It works very well but the price has become unaffordable AND recurring delivery is unreliable unfortunately. I spent a lot of money to keep the rats sterile so delivery mishaps are colossal because without the birth control they will start mating again. So I bought this product as a replacement. It worked for the few low totem pole rats that ate it out of necessity. But not enough would touch it.Recently I went all in because the rats have brought in fleas and mites. I fed the rats game bird crumble daily for 2.5 weeks. No poison. No attractant. They got fat and full and we're living the best rat lives. Then I took the food away and put out rat x discs. They subsisted on what they could scavenge for a few days. Last night they ran out of crumbs I suppose and the 11 discs I set out were all gone in one night. This morning I put feed out for the birds and have seen significantly fewer rats. The temperature is unseasonably hot so I'm not sure if they are hunkered down or dead. I think I should start seeing results soon. I will likely order another tub so I don't run out. Went from mostly displeased with the product to very pleased. If it fails clean up any trash, animal waste, and accessible food sources. Tote your dog food, cat food, get a grain bin for the horses and the rabbits and the birds cause they will eat what they can when they can. Take away that and they will eat the rat x

Safest way to get rid of rats
I bought a bucket of these discs and the housing that you use to contain them. The first few days the rats would not touch them, but I decided to smear chocolate peanut butter all over the disc and the rats have devoured them. I am seeing less rats and will continue to use this product until I know they are all gone. Just wish this company would make them chocolate peanut butter flavor. It does get messy smearing the chocolate peanut butter on them, but it is worth the mess to get rid of the rats.

Have to make it palatable
Rats didn't initially take the baits. We had a big big problem once the chicken coop was relocated. Dozens of the little and big stinkers. Rolled them in peanut powder and a bit of peanut butter on them. Lately there have been no rats taking the bait. Barn đ cat is fine. Dogs are fine. Rats have disappeared. Took about 2 weeks. And we will put the bait out regularly to keep them away.

I wanted this to work
It sounded like a great product to be wildlife safe. But the rats didn't go for it. I set several bait stations in areas with rat activity and no other food around and they didn't touch it.

Rat poison is safe
The rats wonât eat the bait but they eat the poison my pest control guy has! So I wasted money. I keep putting out fresh ones but no luck.
