Downspout Strainer
This strainer works well and helps separate leaves and debris coming off of my roof into the gutter system. Great purchase.

Does the job
If your gutters are like mine, you will need to clean the opening grate after most heavy rainfalls as leaf debris will gather there and block water from continuing down the drain. Not super high quality plastic, but hope it can last at least 5 years or so before needing replacement. we'll see. I installed this as I had heard a bird, chipmunk/squirrel inside the downspout and there was nothing I could do to save it. To prevent this from occurring again I got this to cut into the downspout near to the end where the water heads into the rain sewer pipe. Now it this happens and they end up falling to the bottom where the cleanout port is, they can then get free and then hopefully never fall into anyone's downspouts again. Hopefully, lesson learned!

Must have
Installing a driveways and decided to put in a burried water drain off line from the rain gutter. This little attachment is awesome! Came super quick and fit perfectly.

If your downspouts go into a drainage pipe, the use these to keep the leaves out.
I have one downspout that goes into a pipe and comes out about 30 ft away. If it clogs, then I had to try to force it clear with a hose or more likely had to use a snake to clear it. This prevents any bigger stuff from even getting into the pipe and eliminates the issue of it clogging up. And if it ever does from critters bringing in anything or roots getting into the pipe, the screen pops off and the pipe can still be snaked. It's just a great idea to avoid possible issues if your downspout goes directly into a pipe underground.

Does not stop small items to go through.
Good idea but for it to work for its intended purpose a screened opening would be more efficient than how it’s made. It stops leaves but the vast majority of debris from roof and gutters are small seeds and plants that are not filtered. Place a heavy duty screen, that will help a lot.

No more blockages!
Liked the east install. Really helps catch all the debris from the gutters and not get them in the drains.

Works as expected.
A little expensive for what it is. Works with 2x3 or 4x6 downspouts

Seems to work, but needed modification
The filters have been installed for just over a week. They seem to catch leaves, one has been caught already. The downside is that in a hard downpour about half the rainwater that came down the downspout splashed of the screen and out onto the ground not making it to the drywell. I fixed the problem by inserting a 4" by 6" piece of clear acrylic sheet down between the downspout and the collar of the trap. The sheet is easily removed and I am able to see through the acrylic sheet to know when leaves need to be cleared
