Easy install, perfect fit.
Easy install, was the exact same style as the original OEM off my R1100R BMW. The only issue I could see done the road is since it’s a cheaper starter the crank might wear out quicker then the OEM however for the price you could buy two of these for the price of one from BMW

Awesome deal, fit my BMW R1200CL like a glove
Fit my BMW R1200cl like a glove. I was having problems getting my bike started, cranked slow, thought I had a battery or electrical issue, read a online forum that said these starters are notorious for getting dirt and grime in them and being difficult to start the bike. There are directions on line to take them apart and clean them up but for $60 it’s not really worth your time (especially during ridding season). I’ll clean the old one up and put it on the shelf as a spare.

Perfect fit
I was surprised and a bit skeptical about finding a replacement for the failed starter on my 1999 BMW R1100S. The item came a little earlier than expected and was a perfect, straight forward fit. I've knly ridden a few time since the installation, but it's been working g well.

Not exact fit - died at 2 years
Starter motor fits on bike (and works) but when trying to reattach the battery jumper pin/plug it doesn’t align properly with the hole in the cover.EDIT: this starter is dying and it hasn’t been two years yet. I’m on a camping road trip and not having my bike start up while on a mountain top with no cell phone service is scaring the hell out of me. Ugh.

Quiet, well built and priced ok
For any price out of the box and onto the bike this appears to be a quality starter. Time will tell but for the price which granted was $10 more than ebay, it came the next day and I am back in the road. The starter is quiet and the test sheet that came with it indicates that it will power on the bike with a little less than 22 volts. No qualms at all.
