Cool camera for general people.
I bought this item as a used one sold from amazon warehouse. I was first a little bit nervous about the clarity of the lens as it was a unused one. However, when the item finally arrived my doorstep, to my utter exclamation, i found it almost new as a product. The lens was totally clear, the body was clean without any scratch. I think the previous user didnt use that too much. Now, let us talk about the picture quality. Let me be frank, it is not a DSLR camera! yes, and so, do not expect a super duper nice picture from it. This camera is very good for people who takes picture occasionally and are not photography fanatics. Most people want a camera which is better than a cell phone camera and easy to use. This is this camera. it is point and shoot. you point to the object and shoot it. it can make the adjustment if you put it into auto mode. I found the auto mode is the best way for a normal person for daily use.if you open the pictures in your PC, you won't find any bad result from it. the flash of the camera is good for again a normal person, not for an enthusiastic person in photography. If you print the pictures you won't be disappointed. The night pictures depend on the settings and the flash. The menus in the camera are basic Nikon menus and to me it is enough. To some, it is not enough. Again, it a point and shoot camera and for general people.Battery: it has not rechargeable builtin battery. You ahve to use AA batteries. you can buy rechargeable AA batteries and a charger from amazon.

What have I been doing with my life??!?? Best starter cam of life!
LOOOOOOOOOOVE THUS CAMERA!!! Still getting use to the functions but my word what have I been doing with my life. I'm a YouTuber and for the past 3 yrs I've filmed all my vids Via my Iphone. I started with the iPhone4 when I started my channel and was last using my iphone 5 and sometimes my 6. My vids were great and pics beautiful but man o man once you get a real camera it's like MAGIC my vids are so vivid and clear and pictures so crisp and bold. I love my IPhone but I'm in love with my Nikon. There are just some things a camera does better than a camer phone. I've had my cam for 3 weeks and have no issues it came quick and packed nice. I will update later once I've played around a little more and gotten a hang of some of the more advance settings. I will update with pics as well. The Camera Looks brand spanking new too.

great camera, zoom and quality, bad battery life
this camera is so great! I purchased this and I expected a lousy camera because of the price but it takes great shots! I'm still working on learning all the different effects and things you can do with this camera. but if you are lazy like me and don't like having to buy batteries and change them every day I would not recommend this camera. this is a great camera and I really do love it the only thing is that one set of batteries(4 go into the camera) lasts only 5 hours if your not turning you caner on and off. but the great thing is, the zoom is SO GREAT!!!!!! I went to a walker stalker convention to meet the vampire diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley and this camera zoomed in right in their faces! I was so happy. even thought it sometimes wasn't clear it was still soooo great!!!!

Nikon Coolpix L850 Camera
For a refurbished camera it has excellent focus & clarity. It is especially good in taking clear close-ups of flowers & insects. I take it with me on hikes all the time. I really love it and highly recommend it

Do your research before making any purchase.
To be honest, I was skeptical at first to make such a purchase, not knowing if this was a scam, or for real. I am so very much impressed with my camera, it looks like brand new. I once had one just like the one above, but unfortunately it got wet in Iceland and shorted out.

Not a bad camera. I bought it as a backup to my big Canon with is for repair when a cow bit the lens. This is a refurbished camera and came with no manual, but that is one you can download on the net. Under extremely bright conditions it is always overexposed despite setting the camera to maximum darkness. Also no manual setting. if you like to do your own settings such as exposure time, a range of ISO other than the very limited ranges available.Runs on 4 AA alkaline batteries and gets about 150-200 images per set. If you plan on using this camera a lot I recommend getting rechargeable lithiums and a charger. In macro mode it gives very good close ups. The 38X optical zoom is great. I can recommend this a good camera for general portrait and landscape use. It will take a while to learn what this camera is capable of so download the manual. I will keep it a a back up. Oh one other thing, there is no peep sight, just the LCD screen which when outside on a bright day cane be hard to see the screen.

Fast to focus, exposes accurately and has a simple control layout. Easy to learn and operate. Mega zoom but not for sports.
Ease of use and cost make this a 4.5 Star camera. Not a pro-sumer camera. Not a sports camera. But a fast focus simple control layout. My son is going from cell phone and small PNS to DSLR in a year.1. The Nikon L840 is a great grab and shoot, budget camera. 2.Delivers very nice photos at lower ISO. Glamour mode and touch ups are very flattering. 3. Night shots on a tripod outside do okay. 4. The zoom on this camera is a Beast reach. You can get more. But you'll pay more with other cameras. 5. Not sure what he's framing, there a cool snap back button.to see the object... aim.. release the button...and click. 6. The select-able scene settings are useful and practical. Panorama is fun!! 7. This camera shots on the soft side. 8. And that's fine, this is where you get to learn the camera nuances. 9. We don't do a lot of post editing with PNS', we post to Instagram. The "WiFi" works fine. 10. The Nikon Coolpix L840 is a bare-bones travel zoom point-and-shoot. It has a 38x zoom lens, with a 16-megapixel sensor, and a simplistic control scheme. Not only does this camera produce decent photos and video considering its price, there's nothing cluttering the experience. Uses 4 AA batteries.
