Started right up super easy, runs my space heater
I put oil and gas in it and went to pull the cord and ended up getting a bad grip on it so it kinda slipped out my hand but just that little half pull on the very first start up and this thing fires up and was running. I grabbed my 1800w space heater and it ran that no problem and then I grabbed a hair dryer and that was no problem. Efficiency mode is quiet. I've randomly started it a few times since just cause I almost can't believe how easy it is to start and it cranks right up. Costumer service is good too, I called them before purchasing to make sure it'd power my space heater and they told me it would and then I called back with another question about the Co sensor and they answered that too. I'm very pleased

Great Looking
The good news. Since I purchased, I haven't had a reason to use it!

Did what it said it would do
We had a round of bad weather come through Houston with a couple of tornados and were without power from about 6pm till 5am the next morning. Had the generator running about a hour after the tornado hit so we had it running from 6pm till about 5am in the morning. I topped the generator off with gas around 11pm and went to bed so it ran perfectly fine no issues until I woke up at 5am. I didn’t want to over work it so I had just the fridge and some fans plugged into it and also I only had it running on eco mode. Very quiet machine. Enough to where we were having some quality time with the neighbors out in the garage while it was running behind us and could hear eachother just fine. Would recommend

Very nice generator!
Going with 4 stars for now as I have some difficulties in starting it when I periodically fire it up every other month. I'm confident I wouldn't have problems when needed, but when I compare it to my 9 year old Honda lawnmower which starts on first pull every season, I have to dock it a star.

Generac GP2500i. Worth it.
Okay, so the 2500i arrived very fast. I opened it. Boxed and packed nicely. Put oil in it REC FUEL as I do in all my small engines. Opened side cover used the small funnel that comes with it and filled it with oil that is supplied. Let set a few mins. Slowly pulled the rope a couple of times not to start but to move the oil around. Put the choke on and you could hear the gas filling the line and carb. Gave her a pull and she was up and running first pull. Waited 15 seconds and turned choke off. Running good. I let in run for about 15 mins and shut it down. Let it cool. Started it again (first pull). Let it run 30 mins and shut it down letting it cool. Started it. Plugged a lamp in it let it run a few. Then I plugged a drill in it and off and on pulled the trigger of the drill to change the rpm's of the generator. Did this for about 10 minutes and then let it run on eco for about 25-30 mins. Shut it down let it cool and changed the oil to full synthetic 5w30. The oil in it was pretty dark with no visible deposits ( metal shavings). I am happy with this purchase. It is pretty quiet shouldn't be much of a bother at a campground. The only thing that I didn't care for was tipping the generator almost on the side to change the oil.

Works great, runs a long time
I have used this half a dozen times camping and it works great. I get well over 12 hours of use on one tank of gas under normal load. Starts within two pulls everytime.

Beware: Generac's GP2500i Inverter Generator Warranty Nightmare
Our company, a respected establishment in Downtown Chicago with a remarkable 4.8-star rating from hundreds of satisfied customers, has long relied on Generac equipment. Despite our confidence in the brand, our recent experience with the GP2500i inverter generators has been a profound disappointment, exposing serious flaws in Generac's warranty system and customer support.Unprecedented Maintenance Issues:Investing over $700 per unit, with multiple generators on each of our trucks, we expected impeccable quality and service commensurate with our investment. However, two of our GP2500i generators began experiencing problems just months after purchase, despite meticulous maintenance by our in-house technicians, following Generac's recommended procedures to the letter.Generac's warranty department proved utterly ineffective, offering no solutions beyond directing us to service repair dealers who repeatedly refused to honor the warranty. It wasn't until January, after weeks of frustration and wasted time, that we finally secured promises of replacements from Kristin D. Yet, even this proved to be another ordeal.Endless Trips for Failed Repairs:In February alone, we endured four roundtrip journeys totaling over 200 miles to the repair facility, all in vain attempts to rectify the persistent issues plaguing our generators. Despite clear documentation and undeniable evidence of malfunction, Generac failed to resolve the matter or provide any meaningful support.Public Exposition of Warranty Breakdown:The gravity of our situation was underscored when a prominent figure and their company documented the malfunctioning generator in a video posted online. This public exposure should have prompted swift action, yet our contacts at Generac, Kathy F. and Candace M., offered only empty assurances. Even with widespread attention and pressure mounting, Generac remained unresponsive.A Plea to Potential Buyers:It's inconceivable that a product priced at over $700 each should bring such frustration and disappointment. As a reputable establishment, we expected better treatment and support from Generac, a sentiment shared by many in our community.Generac's failure to honor its warranty promises and provide adequate customer support is unacceptable. We urge anyone considering the GP2500i inverter generator to seek alternatives. Don't make the same costly mistake we did.1-Star Warning Review:Avoid Generac's GP2500i Inverter Generator at All Costs! We've experienced a nightmare with Generac's GP2500i inverter generator, encountering issues six times across two different units on our company trucks. Despite regular maintenance and adherence to recommended procedures, both units suffered from persistent malfunctions. Our attempts to seek warranty support were met with frustration and delays, with service repair dealers turning us away multiple times. After months of back-and-forth, promises of replacements, and wasted trips to repair facilities totaling over 200 miles, we've had enough. Even a public exposé of our ordeal failed to prompt meaningful action from Generac. It's been six months since our initial problems arose, with no replacement units in sight. Considering the hefty price tag of $700 per unit, this level of incompetence and disregard for customers is unacceptable. If you value your time and money, steer clear of Generac's GP2500i inverter generator.

1 star reviewers misdiagnosed simple issue
The issue that 1 star reviewers have repeatedly commented on has nothing to do with the oil level sensor. The actual problem is that the gas cap is so air tight that it’s creating a vacuum in the gas tank and that vacuum doesn’t allow fuel to flow down to the carburetor, it has nothing to do with the oil sensor. The easy simple fix: crack open (unscrew) the gas cap a bit to vent the gas tank. When I first got my 2500 it did sputter and die like others, it seemed to me though that it was not getting fuel. So I cracked the gas cap a bit while in use and i haven’t had a single issue since and I use it regularly. Would it be nice to not have to do that? Sure. But at half the price of a Honda, its well worth it. It’s unbelievably quiet, light weight, starts first pull, runs forever on a tank of gas especially in eco mode. Fully recommend it, absolutely love it.
