Very versatile, does all wee
This product has not disappointed. Great microwave, oven baker, and air fryer. It saves heating up the big oven to bake small items when making meals for two.

DIED after just a little over A YEAR!
REVISED: QUIT TURNING, of course, right after the warranty expired. It's never been great about turning properly, but was fine, until it started groaning, like metal scraping on metal, & died. We've always taken good care of it. I can't express how sick we are of cheap junk. We had each of the past two microwaves for more than 10 years, each. The amount of steam the microwave function produces...apparently on purpose...is making me INSANER!! I'm trying to cook the food, not give it, the interior of the microwave, & the countertop a bath! It drips all over the place when you open the door. SERIOUSLY, it's like it's pulling every ounce of moisture it can get from the air. Not that I don't clean my microwave regularly, but it's way too much to let it air dry, so I have to wipe everything down...every time I use it...including removing the tray & go-around thingy...or the moisture would just sit in there fermenting in extremely unsanitary puddles. The directions are, in part, in very broken English. The timer has been the hardest to figure out...that, & the combo cooking. I guess I'll be investing in some oven safe plastic cookware, because metal {necessary for using the convection function} sparks when the microwave is in use during combo cooking...if I can figure out the directions to get past C1 & on to C2...The broiler appears to be combo, only. I'm unsure what cookware will work, as even oven safe plastic may melt. Although, it's a bit frustrating that the broiler element never seems to heat up enough to quickly broil. I've yet to see it glowing red like a conventional broiler, so it seemingly takes forever. Plus, microwaving can ruin some foods, especially fish & chicken. Bread can get very tough, very quickly. I really don't understand the wisdom in not making it strictly broiling.I'm really looking forward to learning to dehydrate peppers, etc. Some things bake too fast, others take FOREVER! Especially, when air frying. It may be partly my fault for not grasping times for the smaller quantity this oven can handle, vs a full size oven. Sometimes preheat takes forever, others, it doesn't seem to need it or it's far quicker than a conventional oven. Preheating can be MASSIVELY annoying! As soon as you open the door to put the food in, it loses all the heat, starting the preheating process all over again, necessitating opening the door, again, to be able to set the timer. Arrgghh!Sometimes, air fry seems a better choice over baking because it circulates better.Regardless, there's a VERY steep learning curve, made that much worse by the horrendous instructions.I recommend lots of YouTube videos to avoid wasting food. All of the other brands seem prone to shorts & literal fires, so I'm constantly on guard with this one, although it's not mentioned in any of the reviews. It's not fair to judge this one based on those, but I am a little hesitant to leave it dehydrating overnight, unsupervised. It does get VERY hot, so I recommend a silicone mat underneath to protect countertops. To me, heated food always tastes better than microwaved. It's large enough for most casseroles, etc, for a family of four. I like that I don't have to heat up my expensive propane oven. I don't pay for electricity, so it may not be as savvy an investment for others, since it seems to need so much extra time for some things. Again, that may be misconception on my part.Overall, if you don't mind needing a PhD in combo/convection/air fryer/baking/broiler ovens...or your hair in piles on the floor trying to understand these instructions...or purchasing some extra cookware, it's a good investment.SIDE NOTE: This is NOT 1000 watts, as claimed. If you live in an RV, like I do, check the usage for all cooking modes, carefully, to make sure you're not overloading your circuits, potentially causing a fire. Keep in mind, other things, like the refrigerator, are always using some of the total available. This uses 1800, more than 1/2 the 3000 total available in a 30 amp RV {2000 to 2500 max, to be on the safe side}.

Glad I bought this one.
I decided to wait a few months to list my experience and offer insight to anyone else looking to purchase a microwave-air fryer combo. After the ordeal of purchasing a microwave-air fryer combo unit (The first choice, a different brand (GE), was damaged in transit and never arrived; a Toshiba unit purchased "Used, Like New" arrived frivolously packed, with massive dents on both sides (like someone hit it with a sledgehammer), I finally bit the bullet and purchased a brand-new Toshiba unit.It took some getting used to: When the unit is activated, whether microwave or air frying, it makes a loud sound before getting tolerable. It also takes a little getting used to the dial that's used for setting the time/temp/power, but that's no big deal. While it technically is an air fryer, most air fryer fans are on top, so the airflow is not exactly the same. That said, it's become a workhorse in my kitchen. I use it every day and I'm always looking for new things to air-fry.There are a few things I bought after purchasing this unit that I can't live without:A Pizza Baking Screen (12 inches)An Air Fryer Rack (Yes, it comes with a rack, but for pizza and some other foods it's better not to be too close to the heating element.)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NJH4VTX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1An Oil Sprayer (many foods being air-fried need a spray of the oil of your choice - I use olive oil)Hot Plate Gripper Clips (These will make taking the air fryer pan out infinitely easier, and you won't need mitts)Half Oven Mitts (I use silicone ones. Big difference from trying to get full-size mitts into the space.)Cooking:The Toshiba unit makes great Chicken Wings/Nuggets/Tenders. I also discovered that it makes incredibly tender pork chops, but it makes fantastic French fries - just spray them with some olive oil first. I spread them out on the pizza screen and use the lower air fryer rack (I recommend McCain's Beer Batter Dipped Fries and Trader Joe's Sweet Potato Fries). I've also become addicted to Aldi's Pork Egg Rolls.Cleaning:This is where it gets tricky, because the fan is in the back of the unit, behind holes in the oven, so you don't want to use anything that can get inside of it. After trying a lot of things recommended on YouTube, I ended up using a steel wool pad and Dawn Spray, just don't go near the deflector pad on the right side.Notes: The box it comes in is labeled "Heavy", but should also be labeled "Unbalanced", as most of the weight is in the back of the unit, and it's easy to misjudge how it should be lifted. Proceed with caution.UPDATE 04-23-2024:A loud VERY noise began to come from the unit over a month ago, and when I was about to contact Toshiba about the warranty, it went away for a few weeks, then came back with a vengeance. It was most likely the turntable motor. I contacted Toshiba and filed a warranty claim and within 3 weeks I got a check for the full purchase price - no packing or shipping, only verification of purchase and a short video to demonstrate the defect. I reordered the same unit, and it arrived today. I am very happy with Toshiba's customer service.

I could live happily with only this oven!
I use this for two things: (1) plain vanilla microwaving, and (2) air frying. For the first, it's usually one to six punches of the big button/dial, and then go do something else while the oven is heating the food or drink. Rarely, I might want a setting other than Power 10 and/or 30-second increments. It's slightly more trouble to set that, but still easier than any oven I've ever used to do the same thing.I *love* the air fryer! My oven has one, too, but the oven's almost always too big for the small one-person, or at most two-person batches I typically cook. Again, setting the cook time and power is really quick and easy. I usually cook things for about 1/2 to 2/3 the amount time the package specifies for baking them (and that's after warming up the air fryer for only a couple of minutes). The food comes out crispy and tasty. It's also very easy to take a piece out and munch on it while the rest of the batch cooks a bit longer. That's *way* more trouble in a big oven! One thing you'll see that you won't be used to if you have only used conventional microwaves is a bunch of steam coming off the food when you open the oven door. I assume that's because the oven is built with tighter sealing than a pure microwave so that it can work properly as a conventional oven and air fryer. When I have significant steam at the end of a cook, I usually just leave the microwave door open until the next time I come into the kitchen to let the moisture evaporate. That's it!This is one great oven!
