Quieter and much easier than expected.
A Brilliant civilised way to clean a patio compared to a loud jet wash. You also need water. Yard brush to sweep away dirt.Low noise (quieter than a strimmer or vac), the universal brush roller is a very gentile sweep, get the wire brush for deep cleaning. This seems to take a little bit off the patio surface along with weeds but not a real issue.Wet feet but full body cover or ear defenders not required.Eats batteries/works hard - need 4Ah at least or have breaks while charging 2Ah.Easy to use, weighty head keeps pressure on roller, it just works very well.Cannot clean at right angles to a wall or objects due to bulky sides.See pics for part cleaned patio, old shaded riven slabs. No chemicals (blocks not cleaned)

This is a useful tool to clean decking
I have just completed cleaning our 50 sq m decking using this implement, it worked very well, I used a light mixture of bleach and multi surface floor cleaner and a hose pipe to clean it offMy only issue with this machine is the battery only lasts a shot time it is all sai and done only a 5 AH battery on the plus side with two batteries it did not cause undue delays it also gave me a much needed rest I am now 85!

Ryobi
Excellent product at a very competitive price, I have several other ryobi products and have always found them to be high quality. And having one rechargeable battery for numerous other garden and DIY products is convenient and space saving.

Very good product
Firstly, when a product is advertised as ‘bare’ it means that it comes without a battery. So to all those people that are saying that it is not advertised correctly all I can say is read the description properly. Now to the product itself.Brilliant. It does exactly what it says. I have a patio at the rear of my property that continuously gets moss and weeds in the cracks. Every year I use to get down on my hands and knees and painfully remove it. It took for ever and was boring. Now with this little beauty it’s done in a jiffy. Yes, it makes your back and hands ache a little but tell me any manual job that doesn’t !!Now to the battery.I use an 18v 2.0ah. It can last anywhere from 10 mins to 20 mins all depending on how hard you push the machine into the ground. Meaning, if you have a deep crack with lots of weeds in it you will tend to work the machine into to crack and push down a bit harder. This will obviously put more pressure onto the battery reducing its life. Also if it is removing a lot of debris the brush will start to clog up so be mindful of this and stop and clear the debris out so that the brush moves more freely, then you will get a longer life out of the battery. Use the machine more often, so that there are less weeds to remove. This helps in two ways, it’s quicker so no need to labour over lots of weeds and you will then get over 20 mins run time on the battery. So to those people moaning about the life of the battery, you must take these situations into account then you will understand why you’re not getting the best life out of it.Summary.Read the advert before you buy.Don’t expect to get lots of life out of a battery when you are working it too hard.Stick to these basic rules and you will have a product that will do you proud.Hope this review helps. 😉

Fine, but consummables expensive
Does the job (I have no other way of doing it) but the consumables (replacement discs) are really expensive. Like everything, it gets better with use. The skill I'll focus on growing is how to do the job, whilst making the consumables last longer.

Dreadful build quality as normal from Ryobi
This tool is fantastic, but ONLY because it's the only tool that does this. I truly don't know why DeWalt or other power tool manufacturers haven't made one of these a long time ago!Mine arrived covered in white grease somehow... Not impressed. My 5AH DeWalt battery is lasting about an hour, but this thing gets really caked in dust, internally, really fast. The rubber dirt guard is nowhere near big enough, so you WILL get all of the dirt in your shoes and socks and because its not balanced properly, it will put a fair bit of strain on your wrist trying to keep it straight. Its clearly designed only for right-handed use, yet with 1 simply tweak, this could have been made for both, and the plastic wheel on its opposite side is already almost knackered, as it doesn't have any barings in it, its just very loose plastic, rubbing against more very loose plastic, which as you can imagine, fills up with dirt almost instantly then starts grinding away at itself from the inside outwards. You don't realise until you finish using it for the second time that the wheel is now insanely wobbly and loose. In total, I've run about 8 battery packs through it so far, and it's chewed through 1.5 wire brush discs. The handle is really poor quality too. This thing really needs a locking switch on it so you can switch it on and it stays on. The trigger is painfully short too. the whole thing, as soon as you get it out of the box you know it's cheap junk and wonder how long it's going to last.I just don't understand why Ryobi makes something so useful, so badly... What it does is brilliant, its just a horribly made tool to use, that was built based on profit margins instead of the people who actually need to use it.Ryobi spares are also a pain too. The company they outsource the parts to have painfully short opening hours and super slow delivery of parts. 7 weeks for replacement brush wheels.

Not as good as expected
I’ve added a before and after pictures to show real life comparisons and in all honesty there isn’t much difference. It worked ok but nothing that you couldn’t achieve with a power washer which is what I did and it looked a lot better than with the Ryobi. I’m a bit disappointed as I’m a fan of Ryobi but really all this did was create a mild difference on wood and none on stone. I’ve returned it as it didn’t really live up to expectations although the battery didn’t run down during use but it did lack enough power to make much a difference and wasn’t much good at edges close to the fence.
