Great for both primary and back-up charging!
Apparently the charging circuit associated with the barrel-connector DC jack failed in my Dell laptop. But this charger solved the problem by providing a USB-C connection for charging. I don't know how frequently this happens, but if it happens to you, you can't go wrong with this charger. Hint: make sure the wattage matches your computer. And the one I received does not have a light on it indicating that it is connected to a power source.

2 Stopped Working After 4 Months. Buyer Beware.
I bought these in December and it is April and these no longer work. Use for my work laptop at home and just stopped charging. Waste of money and returns no longer allowed. Something should last more than 4 months.
