If there’s one product that has truly earned a permanent spot in this germaphobe’s home, it’s this 20 Mule Team All Natural Borax Detergent Booster and Multi-Purpose Household Cleaner I’ve tried countless cleaning products over the years as any germaphobe would, from trendy spray to expensive laundry additives, but nothing delivers results quite like this timeless staple. Packaged in a 65-ounce box and sold in a convenient 4-count bundle, it’s not just a great value—it’s a powerhouse of cleaning potential. Right off the bat, I appreciate that the packaging tells you exactly what it is and what it does, and it’s been around for over a century for a reason. This isn’t some fad cleaner that’s going to disappear in a year—this is an OG multi-tasker that’s stood the test of time. Now, there’s many ways that I use this product which is why it’s become my go-to for everything from laundry to pest control. Yes, it’s that versatile.I use this often in my laundry room to brighten, boost and strip my garments and houseware items. That’s why I fell in love with this in the first place. My son is an all tri-athlete and it was always so hard to keep his baseball uniform clean. That’s when I first discovered this product and I’ve never looked back. Its ability to brighten and refresh clothes —especially whites is what sealed the deal for me. We all know how frustrating it is when white t-shirts, towels, or bed linens start to look dingy or gray over time. I just toss in a scoop of this with my regular detergent, and it’s like I’ve hit a reset button on my whites. They come out looking fresher, cleaner, and just overall better! I also use this for laundry stripping, particularly my pillows, blankets, and towels. There’s nothing quite like watching the magic happen when you soak items in a mixture of Borax, washing soda, and detergent. The water turns murky fast — which is just as satisfying as it is horrifying. You don’t even realize how much buildup lives in your everyday fabrics until you strip them! Afterward, everything feels softer, smells cleaner, and looks noticeably brighter. For high-traffic homes or families with kids (and if you have pets, I guess), this is an absolutely essential! It’s not just about cleanliness—it’s about comfort, longevity, and that “like-new” feel that makes me appreciate using this.Outside of using it for my laundry, I use Borax as a household cleaner as it is a stellar one! I use it to clean sinks, tubs, and even my trash cans. It’s gentle enough that I am not worried about harsh fumes or surface damage, but powerful enough to cut through grime and odors with ease. A simple paste made with Borax and water is all it takes to scrub down surfaces, freshen drains, and deodorize stinky spots. One of my favorite things about Borax is that it doesn’t rely on artificial scents to “mask” odors — it neutralizes them. It’s a clean, no-nonsenses cleaner. That’s especially important to me since I try to limit unnecessary chemicals in my home. Borax fits perfectly into a low-toxin or natural-cleaning lifestyle. I also love that I can use it in DIY cleaning recipes. Whether I’m making my own dishwasher tabs, toilet bombs, or multipurpose sprays, Borax is a key ingredient. It’s incredibly affordable considering how far it goes. Now this MAY surprise some people, but I also use Borax to keep spiders away from our patio — and it works! I live in an area where spiders love to set up shop in corners, railing, and under furniture. It used to feel like a losing battle trying to keep the patio clear. But since I started sprinkling a line of Borax around the perimeter and in key spots, the spiders have mostly stayed away. (Thanks for the tip, Mommy!) It’s not a guaranteed force field, but the difference is considerably noticeable and consistent. I’ve also mixed a bit of Borax with water and sprayed it around the patio edges with similar success. And the best part? No harsh chemical smells or sprays that make it unpleasant to sit outside. I’m not a fan of using heavy pesticides where my kids might play, so Borax is a fantastic, Safe-feeling alternative. It’s also helped with general patio maintenance—cleaning mildew spots, scrubbing patio furniture, even freshening up outdoor cushions. Again, the versatility can’t be overstated! In conclusion, Borax is a class act cleaner for a reason. It’s versatile, affordable, and incredibly effective. From brightening whites and stripping laundry, to deep cleaning and even repelling pests, this continues to prove its value again and again in my household. There’s something deeply satisfying about using a product that does exactly what it says it will — no gimmicks, no nonsense. Just realizable performance across a wide range of tasks. If you’re looking for a product that pulls double (or triple) for your trouble the duty in your home, THIS IS IT! I love that I can trust it with both heavy-duty cleaning and delicate tasks. I love that it supports a more natural approach to cleaning. And most of all, I love that IT WORKS! It DESERVES this five star EASILY!Would I repurchase? I already have.Would I recommend? Yes, to any and everyone! GET IT!!I hope this in-depth review was helpful/beneficial to someone out there.

Reduces Laundry Cost While it Improves Cleaning
I've switched back to powdered laundry soap and its one of the best decisions I've made in a while. Price wise it's a lot more economical and I feel better about throwing away one cardboard box instead of 2 or 3 plastic bottles. Apart from that, my clothes are actually cleaner. I use a combination of Arm & Hammer powdered soap, a little OxiClean, and this borax (water softener). I mix them all together in a ratio of around, 50-25-25 so I don't have to measure three different boxes every time. There's no scientific reason behind my formula but it seems to work well.I'm one of those "always working on a project" guys so my work clothes are usually fairly dirty. I use about half the recommended amount of soap now and my clothes and bedding always comes out great with very little perfume smell. Also, borax cost less than laundry soap but its water softening property goes a long way in improving the cleaning power of your soap. I choose to use the 20 Mule brand for the price and size of box.

Essential!!
Borax used to be a regular thing in my laundry long ago and for financial reasons had to stop buying it. Fast forward a little and our clothes started smelling weird and we smelled like wet dog fur when we sweat and I couldn't figure out why, well, it's the terrible hard water and borax had been keeping the odors away. We are blessed enough to be able to afford the extras now, however, I don't feel like this is an "extra" anymore, it's an essential!! No longer smell like the dog. Thank God amazon has flash sales on this!!

Multipurpose excellence.
Worked as expected and better. It does actually freshen the laundry and this tends to last at least a day or two for line. Then it’s time to watch the linen anyway so it’s great. it also lens a certain fresh is to countertops in the sink as well as in the bathroom. I’m amazed what it does for the tub.

A great laundry cleaning booster.
Using a half cup of Borax allows me to only need half the amount of laundry detergent per extra large load & still get great cleaning results. I really like it as a cleaning booster, mixing it with white vinegar for my dogs bedding as I don't like them to breathe in all the perfumes from detergent alone.

Powder residue everywhere on other items.
Love the product. But the product was all over every other item in the package. I recommend shipping separate from other items.
