The Little Splitter Works Quite Well.
Easy to assemble, started on first pull, has plenty power to cut thru 16" dried hardwood rounds. All manuals and assembly guide were with the splitter. Every assembly nut, bolt, and washers were present. About an hour to assemble.Received the splitter within 24 hours. No idea about longevity, it works great, plenty fast, and doesn't labor when splitting.I looks like quality welds and finish. My only thoughts are that the knife is welded on and I have no idea how long it'll last, it'll be tedious to replace. That said, it has plenty 'meat' for sharpening.Arrived well packaged.Seems quite the value for the price vs 20 power.I'll add that when using the splitter, stand aft of the ram, halfs fall off the bed and will ruin your day.

Good Value Overall Not So Much on the Quality Control
*** At some point I will add some photographs***The splitter arrived in a box. The bits and pieces, frankly, looked tossed into the box it was so askew. The rail the logs set on has a nice 5" or so dent/bend where someone wacked it quite nicely. Its a two man lift and one UPS driver so one can imagine why the contents were askew and the big rail dent....The instructions for assembly are...really just pictures. If you can follow images, you can kind of make your way through it without issue. The hardware provided is probably not the best suited for the application. They used locking nuts on some components, but others they did not where I would have given the amount of vibration this endures. I would have expect, just from a safety standpoint, grade 8 bolts for the hydraulic cylinder. At some point I will change out the hardware to something a little more suited to the application. As other have said, the hydraulic hose length is just BARELY long enough making this aspect of the assembly the worst part about the assembly. The second worst was finding hose ends not tightened from the mfg - good thing I checked, or so I thought I diverted an oil leak disaster.....The cylinder looks beefy. the welds look good. The engine looks solid - a lot of the engines coming out of china are made by the same companies with just a private label and specific application modifications made. I am assuming, given there is not much to them, this one is no different.Added oil to the engine, fuel, and hydraulic oil. Started right up. I like to let my engines run for 45 minutes at a moderate RPM for break in. Everything was going smoothly until about, oh, 30 minutes into the break in when hydraulic oil starts leaking from the hydraulic pump....what a mess. The leak made it look like the casing seam was leaking....but it turned out, someone at the MFG did not tighten down the pressure relief value on the hydraulic pump so it backed its way out enough to start pouring out hydraulic fluid.All-in-all, the quality of the bit is on the lower end as noted by other reviews. But....the price you pay reflects that and I was going in for something cheap as I consider it a throwaway unit. I was really disappointed in how it arrived from the factory...It was kind of feeling like no pride in workmanship.I put the log splitter through about 10 hours of non-stop work splitting logs I've piled up for the last year - a total of exactly four 8' log racks full to the top plus splitting chinks of micro cuts for a large wood stockpile for my wife's little chimenea area . Went through them like a champ. We'll see if it survives the 100 plus trees I still need to timber and split and huge pile of now seasoned whole timber laying in the back forty I've not gotten to....lol.Would I buy this again? As of right now, sure I would. I got it purring like a cat. I've got years of experience in my youth working with hydraulic systems, so I could have taken the whole thing apart and reassembled it if I needed to in order to get the hoses one...lol.Would I recommend you buy it? I wouldn't until they change that hydraulic hose length issue (It is so tight, you have to loosen hoses to give you just enough play to get them on - and you are still risking cross threading the whole time as the tolerance is so tight you can't turn the fitting by hand - you have to use a wrench). I mean, the extra hose length is pennies.... That, and I am not a big fan of companies that ship stuff preassembled from the factory and have no quality control to ensure critical components are tightened as they should be before they hit the door...No excuse given there is just not a lot going on in the hydraulic loop. These to factors, for me, make it a risky buy if you are not mechanically inclined.Frankly, I had to run over to lowes to pick up some 4x4's for a project and a cover for this (grill covers make great outdoor covers for your small equipment btw).....Anyway, right over by the grills they had a 13 ton unit for I think somewhere around 970 or so that was visually twice the unit this was; longer, heavier, larger splitter surface, longer rack, wider press....man... and I did stop and look at it and think, boy, I probably should have just bought this. I would recommend you look at that unit as it was larger and beefier than this little unit and I think they come pre-assembled and they do deliver :)

UPDATED to 6 stars-Built with British pipe connections- not repairable in USA
It worked great to split about a chord of wood. I admit it was all my fault that I got in a hurry and accidentally got a log caught behind the hydraulic ram foot on the return cycle and snapped off the control valve which ruined the return hose and the fittings on the cylinder and on the control valve leaving the threads and seats of the hydraulic connections un-repairable.I took the damaged parts to a hydraulic shop and it could have been fixed other than it is built with British pipe connections instead of American pipe thread and those connections arent readily available.I called and sent an email to Great Circle Products (the manufacturer of Landworks and Superhandy) asking to purchase a complete replacement Hydraulic Cylinder assembly after I couldnt find and repair parts listed on their website. I'll post an update when I find out if they can/will sell me what I need to fix it. If they sell me the parts I will update my review to 5 Star. For less than buying all the connectors on special order, buying a new control valve and the labor to fix what I broke, I was able to buy all the parts from Great Circle. Its not easy to find but they sell parts through a different website. GCMOUTLET.COM is where you need to go for replacement parts. Best advise I can give you is to call to make sure you order the right parts. Eric was a great help.

Broken dipstick after first start up
The dipstick to check the hydraulic fluid broke off after the first start up. When to check it and this is what I found. Now I have have a piece of plastic floating around the hydraulic system. We’ll see how long this lasts.
