HQUA PN01DC 120V AC Remote Control LED RGBW Color Change Inground Pool Light, 10 Inch 50W with 100 Feet Cord, UL Listed Transformer Included, Fit for 10" Large Wet Niches.

I had recently relaced my 5" spa light with an HQUA LED unit and it was great. I decided to replace my main 9" pool light with this HQUA unit. The unit was advertised as a 50W LED light. When it arrived, the back of the unit was stamped as a 36W light. I was concerned about this (brightness) and contacted Amazon and then HQUA. What I found was that the transformer output was 50W and the current into the unit was 36W, due primarily to line loss in the 100' line. HQUA assured me that this light brightness was more than ample and the brightness would equal or exceed the brightness of my incandescent light. I took them at their word and installed the light. They were correct...the brightness is perfect and easily lights up the 40' run of my pool. (Pool dimensions: 40' x 18') I have no reservation recommending this light. I great light for the price.

I never liked the idea of having 120V AC going anywhere near water, even with all of the safety measures. This light allowed me to switch things up and now send 12V DC to the pool. This also makes me wonder why the Hayward/Pentair equivalent lights are so much more expensive. I had an issue with the pool light where the red LED would not turn on (the equivalent spa light was fine). Support was extremely helpful and sent out a new controller/remote in a very timely manner which solved the issue.

Replaced our 2 OEM 120V AC Pentair lights with these 12V DC lights (safer). Just as bright as OEM for 10% of the cost. Easy to sync both lights to work with 1 controller.

Update 1: 4/24/2025#1 the metal support at the bottom isn’t long enough to attach to lighting niche. See pictures.#2. The color of the wires that attach to the LED controller do not match the colors of the controller. This isn’t a big issue, as long as you take a before picture. Because we must remove the wires in order to run the wire in conduit. See pictures.Original:We just received package, opened it and there is some false advertisement, as the light is advertised as 50W. However on the back of the light it clearly states 36W. 50watts is the total input system power.I think I will still install it and see how well it lights my pool. I will update this review once the light is installed.

nice light. says 120v but comes with transformer. if you are hard wired 120v have to splice into the transformer. works great remote is pretty easy. nice and bright.

These are wonderful lights. I’ve installed multiple throughout the year. I’m an electrician and I replaced pool lights for clients.These lights work amazing. Be sure to use the proper power supply.
