Learning Multiplied
In my elementary school years, we had to learn our multiplication tables in 1st grade. It was the old rote-and-drill method with the teacher shouting out the factors and selecting some hapless victim for the answer - some of whom were only 6 years old.Educators would probably cringe at that approach today. Standards are different now, too, with the basics of multiplication not being introduced until the last half of 3rd grade. School Zone follows that timeframe with this grades 3 - 4 workbook. There's no reason, though, that kids can't begin the easier multiplication facts of 1, 2, 5 and 10 by 2nd grade. The School Zone worksheets start with the multiplication facts of number 1 until the number 12. You can tear out the perforated sheets in the sequence that works best for your learner. The overall structure of this introductory workbook is consistent and comprehensive. Each page gives an example of the products and factor being studied, an orderly math facts exercise (1x1, 1x2, 1x3, etc.), followed by a random set of 10 problems within that series. Review pages ask the student to complete a grid or a puzzle search or a challenging number wheel to further reinforce the numbers.School Zone offers a pretty tough 60-page workout. Your young learner will be challenged to multiply 3 factors, answer story problems, complete product charts and take timed tests. The section on division follows the same format.Terrific graphics and an uncluttered layout multiplies the learning opportunties.

It’s good for kids
Book is ok for kids to practice math, but it has not that many math problems! Book is the way a bit thin!

Nice Math Workbook for tutoring
I found this workbook very helpful in tutoring a neighbor's child this summer of 2022. This is a great workbook that includes a brief parental guide on the inside front cover. There is wildlife themed color art (the main wildlife pics even give the creature's name, there's lots of animals, including fish, butterflies, an ocelot, and lots of others). I love how instructions are given on most pages, that explain the "how" and "why" of the math on that page. Copyright 2021 School Zone Publishing Company. An "I Know It! (R) Book".
