I have a desktop PC which has the older Windows XP operating system that dates back to year 2007. Although I don't use it for Internet access, I still use it to type up documents and files, however the PC mouse had for some months become unresponsive at times, so I knew that it was time to look for a new one on Amazon.I had ordered one previously as it said on the advert webpage that it worked on Windows XP, but unfortunately when I received it, the box package clearly said it was only compatible with the later versions of Windows 10 or 11, so had to return it back to Amazon.So with this order for the LOYRAD brand "V12 Desktop Business Office Mouse" (desktop PC mouse with 3.0 USB cable), again it was based on the web page advert saying it was compatible with Windows XP.So having just received the item today (16/12/2024), the box details said nothing about compatibility with any of the Windows operating systems, so the only way to find out if it was compatible was to test it out in practice.And the good news is that it does work on Windows XP, and I am relieved! - because if it didn't I would have to return it to Amazon again to get a refund, and then start the search all over again. So far so good.Product review: On usage it feels lightweight compared to my original desktop PC mouse, but that does not in any way affect how the cursor on the PC screen work. The cursor tracks very accurately the direction of the mouse however you move it on the mouse mat (it also works just as well on other surfaces such as paper and table wood). Underneath the mouse there is a red sensor optical light which senses the direction the mouse is going - so this could be the reason for its accuracy.The surprising thing is how quiet the click operation is with this PC mouse, it's a barely there sort of click noise (compared to the the original PC mouse I have). The operation to point at text/images, to highlight and select, to open drop down menus and select the features required, etc., is quick and effortless , smooth and responsive.At £5.99 it is extremely good value for money, especially for a mouse that does actually work for an older Windows XP version. If it works on Windows XP, it should also work on all the other Windows versions that supercede it (such as Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11).Not heard of the brand name before, but the PC mouse does an excellent job - I have no complaints about that, I would recommend for anyone who still uses a desktop PC with an old version of Windows.

Good feedback from buttons, works well across many uneven surfaces and can be dismantled for cleaning or repair.Recommend.

Cheap and it works. Very light and cheap feeling but it is cheap.

I have been let down by so many wireless mice malfunctioning that i have returned to a wired one. This is very lightweight with a decent sized lead. I notice it sometimes does not respond if you have it on an uneven surface as the tracking sensor is quite recessed into the body. But if you work exclusively on flat surfaces its a decent buy for the price.

Does the job but the scroll wheel isn't smooth. In retrospect should have paid more for something smoother

This mouse was a fiver, and it feels like it's worth a fiver, but not much more! It's very cheap, lightweight and the quality of the clicks and the wheel is poor, but set your expectations accordingly! It's a mouse for a fiver, and I think that it's great value for a spare mouse and I would recommend it if thats all you need.
