The fit

I am still in the design stage of the bookshelf/hidden door project. The opening is a non standard size so I'm building the entire bookshelf from scratch, the hinge is the most crucial element so I'm building off that. The hinge is not very big at all especially for the 220# load it purports to carry. It appears to be well made and solidly built, there are several installations options none of which appear to be difficult. I will update my review once I get to the installation/test under load part of this project.

Using these for pivoting hidden door in my basement

The screw lever does a nice job of retracting up, but will not work when trying to re-attach the door. My husband had to modify to make lever work. Disappointed.

These are great little pivot hinges and good quality for the price.

These are pretty hefty hidden hinges and stainless as well they fit the bill just right. I like the fact that they will hold up to a 300lb door if that's not heavy enough for ya well sorry that's a heck of a door. I am putting these to use as a hidden book shelf/door with a side entry to our bathroom. The instructions are just a bit lacking but if you have the basic concept and watch a couple of YouTube videos you'll do just fine. I had to do a bit of tinkering with mine as far as the recess portion to keep the hinge even more out of site. All in all if you can do some basic D.I.Y. stuff these will work for you to hang a hidden door as well.

First, everything comes packaged to prevent any marring to occur between the pieces, although the whole purpose of the hing is to be kept hidden, still, always appreciated. My use of the hinge is unconventional, but I think it gives an idea of how useful the hinge set can be in particular cases where a regular door installation is not feasable. For me, we're struggling to separate heat zones in the apartment and installed the hinge above a door (with temporary studs above it) to allow for a swiveling door without attaching it the wall studs. Hard to explain, but, the bottom line is the hardware is good quality and does exactly what it sets out to do: be creative with your door installations. I didn't install mine and had a friend with experience do it. I needed it done right. But the instructions are clear, so if you're handy with this sort of thing, the guide should be enough to assist you. Product recommended.

These are great hidden hinges. You can use them for all kinds of different projects. Just be aware that the tolerances are a bit tight. They are great and sturdy, but if you try to use them in a out of square application, they won't work well... but in reality, that is any hinge right? I was definitely impressed with these for the price.
