These are really bright very good quality, easy install you’re able to sync it up to other modules or controllers, which was a great easy install

HAPPY UPDATE: Replaced the LED strip and all is great now.The Seller provided excellent communication and service. I contacted them with pics and descriptions of the installation and our settings on the controller. The next day, they replied. After about 4 emails/4 days clarifying info (they replied at night, I assume a time difference), they agreed that everything was installed correctly and the controller was settings were correct. The Seller sent a new LED strip replacement. That fixed it. Very excited to use them on our trip next week!The lights on the LED strip are beautiful and bright. We have them installed in black channels with a white UV resistant diffuser which naturally diminishes the brightness compared to an open strip and they are still bright. Also, the color range and the option to set the white to anything between cool white to warm white PLUS dimming makes them perfect for any camping environment. These lights are a huge improvement over our old single color (only off or on) LED strip that came mounted on the RV awning's roller.We installed the IP65 for two reasons: 1. The IP67 does not have adhesive tape on the back which we needed for installation. I contacted 3M and they don't even have a product that will adhere to silicone. 2. The IP67 is 12mm wide and requires special channels for them to fit in or you have to hang with it with clips. We needed channels. Also, I could not find wider channels that offered UV resistant diffusers. The IP65 is 10mm wide, front & sides covered in silicone, adhesive strip on the back, fits in standard channels and I could order a solid strip of UV resistant diffuser to run the whole length. That allowed us to seal the channels with silicone to waterproof them, because the IP65 is not 100% waterproof.Be aware a separate controller is required to use the LED strip. The remote that came with the controller has some easy quick settings. The phone app offers more customization. It's not a computer program, but has enough variety in settings, colors, music, etc. that it is perfect for our use.(Controller & remote purchased separately:BTF-LIGHTING SP630E Bluetooth Controllers 4 Zones 2.4GHz RF RB4 Remote Kit Support FCOB COB SMD PWM RGBCCT RGBWW LED Strip DC5V DC12V DC24V) We mounted the controller in a waterproof junction box and added silicone seal.4 STARS: Because the 1st strip was defective. Will update if the problem is resolved. This is running off the recommended controller. Only about 1/3 of the strip will work. Tried the remote control and the app, same area out. And, this strip has dual data wires. If it was one Led, the rest is supposed to work.

I fully understood that I was getting a light strip, and just the light strip on this, I also picked up a power supply and planned to use a raspberry Pi to control the lighting. Finally got everything setup and it's working great! Great color saturation provides a very rich array of colors and while the warm/cool white LED's took a bit to figure out it's really nice to be able to get those perfect white tones in addition to the RGB colors which never quite get white right.

Every BTF-lighting product I have gotten has been perfect and worked great right off the bat. These are no exception to that statement. They work great, and look great.The biggest thing to keep in mind is that these do NOT have any sort of sticky tape on the back like a lot of the other strands will have. You CAN get these with the sticky backing, but, from the research I have done at least, it seems as though if you are getting these because of the IP67 rating and plan on using them in the elements, you will need to come up with a different solution to put them up than sticky backing. If you’re just going to be using them in a damp environment where they won’t be exposed to the elements, then you would most likely be fine to get the version with the sticky backing on it.Another thing to keep in mind is if you plan on cutting them and customizing them at all in that sense, as soon as you cut it, it is no longer waterproof. Apparently BTF-lighting has little silicone plugs available for that very purpose in order to keep them waterproof after cutting them. But, you could also find your own way to keep it waterproof after cutting as well (thinking a silicone caulking or something similar would work fine) that might be a bit easier or more permanent. It all depends on your specific application and what you are going for in your project.Aside from all of that, which is nothing wrong with the strip at all, these are a fantastic option for being able to use individually addressable LEDs. These would be great for permanent outdoor lighting on your house where you can connect the lights to an ESP board and control them using WLED…just for example. These will be a fantastic option to anyone looking for good quality RGBIC lighting.
