Robust, very easy to use and will last a few years.
After about 4 years, prepare to replace the entire unit, as the battery will eventually fail to hold a charge. I bought mine in 2021 and just now discovered that my Avid Power Rotary Tool no longer holds a charge. After 4 years, I can totally understand this, as I've used this tool over 25 times over the course of owning it.It never failed to do it's job and the battery charge it would hold was quite long, when it could still keep a charge.I bought mine for about $40 back in 2021 and now, Avid Power has an updated version for less than what I originally paid (currently $35 for a similar model).I'm going to get a replacement rotary tool now, same brand; Avid Power.Four years is a very acceptable product life for a battery powered tool of this nature.

Grey AVID power dremel
I have bought 4 of these dremels. I love them. They are for filing dog nails. Only one came to me looking moldy which returned. I will continue buying these dremels they have the power I need.

Not for a professional dog groomer - with updated
UPDATE :after contacting customer service, they did offer to send me a replacement of the tool without the button feature, and with a switch feature instead. Customer service was super quick at replying and offering solutions, so I did update the rating. In February I bought the Avid Power Cordless Rotary Tool on Amazon as I am a dog groomer, and it was advertised as being able to work for dog nails. After buying the product, I jumped the gun and quickly got rid of my old dremmel thinking the Avid Power tool would be a much better staple in my groomer tool box but unfortunately I am so very let down. At first, I tested the product on my German shepherd who has thick nails however, my dog is an angel for getting her nails done and would sleep through a chainsaw cutting them off so I quickly realized how unreliable that initial test was.The sanding bits that came with my Rotary tool were awful and wore out immediately after 3 nails so I did also have to use my Dremmel brand sanding bits on that first test run. After changing the bit, everything seemed just fine, until I actually started using it on clients. The noise it makes is so incredibly loud and rough, no matter how much I clean it in between use, since day one even, it’s been awfully loud and scares dogs who don’t usually get scared of their nails being filed. I thought it was just what the Avid Power tools all sounded like, but after 2 months, a new coworker had let me borrow theirs, same brand and model, just in the red color, and theirs sounded so smooth, I was shocked. Clearly mine has a default somewhere.Again, I’ve had this rotary tool since February, and since April, I’ve been having trouble using the power button. At times I have to press and hold it five times for it to turn on, or turn off. It’s extremely frustrating especially when working with dogs who get so scared they try to wrestle you and eat the tool. I re-read reviews on Amazon, and it seems a lot of people have experienced this problem, which eventually lead to their tool never turning on again. I honestly wish I would’ve kept my older tool, but this one looked so sleek and powerful… I regret it. I did e-mail the company hoping to get some answers or to troubleshoot why these problems are occurring. Until they fix the product, I don’t recommend..

Worked As Well as Dremel Drill
I am very pleased with this product. It was on the low-cost spectrum, and I expected it wouldn't be as good as my drill... but it actually is. In fact, it worked better. I use it for trimming and thinning fungus thickened nails. For me, this is the only way to control them to keep them from growing in-grown or becoming too thick. They file down quite nicely. I have been slowly getting rid of the fungus, but when my drill died on me, I procrastinated in ordering another one. This one is so easily handled. It has plenty of power and anything you need comes with it. I totally sculpted my nails, flattening out the raised high ridges and drilling down the thickness. My toenails are so much better looking now, it's hard to see that I have a problem at all. My toenails look totally normal to anyone not specifically holding a magnifying glass to my toes (whew, how creepy). No more pain, fungus is so easily treated (I use vinegar water to soak and treat with a silicone toe cover, wash, rinse, etc.). It's impossible to treat the fungus with the thickness and hardness of the nails... trim both the ends and the surface and the treatment is absorbed 20 times better than leaving the nail thickened and trying to treat. I had to have my husband help me before. He loves this gadget because it is so handy, simplified to hold and manipulate. The power is very strong... no difference to my plug-in. To be honest, I don't know how long the battery lasts, because it's never stopped on me, yet. I've even used it successfully on my dog and cat nails. Being wireless, not overly heavy or large (easy to manipulate) helped more than I thought. All my fur babies have no problem now as it's not as scary as the other plug-in that I was using. They seem much more receptive. They still don't like it but are not totally freaked out and remain reasonably comfortable. Recommend.

Good price for a good tool!
I bought this last year to replace my drenal tool which was wearing out. I thought cordless would be an advantage and I was right! After almost a year with many hours of use, mostly for trimming my two dogs nails, I am very glad I chose this tool. It has ample power, is relatively quiet and vibration free. The battery lasts a long time between charges and the light that illuminates what I'm working on is very helpful.
